Position Summary

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving profitable growth by developing new business, expanding customer relationships, and serving as the face of DuraPlas throughout an assigned territory. This is an individual contributor role with full ownership of the assigned territory. You'll have the autonomy to develop your sales strategy, build customer relationships, and drive revenue growth. This position will work across the Midwest region, which includes Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky.

You'll focus on expanding our Plumbing and HVAC product lines by developing new distribution partnerships, creating contractor-level demand, and growing relationships with OEMs, distributors, contractors, and other key customers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Territory Growth

  • Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities throughout the assigned territory, with a primary focus on the plumbing and HVAC industries.
  • Build relationships with OEMs, contractors, wholesale distributors, and large end users to expand DuraPlas' market presence.
  • Generate qualified leads through prospecting, networking, trade shows, and industry events.
  • Develop territory strategies that increase revenue, grow market share, and support long-term business objectives.

2. Customer Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary sales contact for customers throughout your territory, building trusted, long-term relationships.
  • Grow existing accounts by identifying opportunities to introduce additional products, expand applications, and increase customer value.
  • Understand each customer's business and provide consultative recommendations that help solve operational challenges.
  • Deliver exceptional service before, during, and after the sale to strengthen customer loyalty.

3. Sales Execution & Market Intelligence

  • Manage the sales pipeline using CRM tools, ensuring timely follow-up, accurate forecasting, and consistent account activity.
  • Prepare pricing, quotations, and proposals while maintaining an understanding of pricing strategies and basic contract terms.
  • Monitor competitive activity, industry trends, and customer feedback to identify opportunities and adjust territory strategies.
  • Represent DuraPlas professionally at customer visits, product demonstrations, trade shows, and other industry events.

4. Collaboration & Business Planning

  • Partner closely with Product Management, Customer Service, Marketing, and other internal teams to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
  • Support new product introductions and help execute broader sales initiatives within the territory.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on sales activity, pipeline development, forecasts, market conditions, and territory performance.
  • Contribute ideas that improve sales processes, strengthen customer relationships, and support the continued growth of the business.

Key Numbers or Indicators

  • Revenue growth by territory and product line
  • Number of new customers/accounts established
  • Conversion rate on quotes and follow-up activity
  • Average order value and product mix improvement
  • Timely and accurate reporting in CRM

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent industry experience considered
  • Minimum 3-5 years of sales experience in B2B environments; Plumbing, HVAC, or Industrial markets strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining long-term customer relationships
  • Experience launching or growing new project lines is a plus
  • Experience working autonomously in field sales across a multi-state region

 

Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage a territory independently and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong understanding of sales pipeline development and customer lifecycle management
  • Familiarity with pricing structures, quoting, and basic contract terms
  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively

 

Compensation & Benefits

This position offers a base salary ranging from $70,000 to $100,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and territory success. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for commissions and/or performance-based incentives tied to revenue growth, new account acquisition, or other key performance indicators.  Travel reimbursement and tools necessary for success in the field will also be provided.
