Regional Destination Manager

We are seeking a driven and high-performing Regional Destination Manager to lead a team dedicated to continuously enhancing, updating, and strengthening the quality of Viator’s marketplace within their assigned region.  This role requires a proven track record in team leadership, excellent communication skills (both internal and external), and effective team-building abilities. The ideal candidate will be proactive, motivated, organized, and thrive in a fast-moving, team-oriented, and entrepreneurial setting.

As a Regional Manager, you will lead a team of high achievers, collaborating with other regional managers, sales operations, and various teams across Viator. Your work will drive policies and changes that will impact your region, our suppliers, and the company as a whole. You will be responsible for meeting/exceeding regional level key performance indicators and maintaining/improving the overall commercial health of your region. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead Destination Management Team:

    • Lead and guide the team to exceed all established targets.

    • Foster a high-performance culture, motivating and developing team members.

    • Take responsibility for critical business outcomes and key performance indicators (KPIs) across the entire region.

    • Establish strong partnerships with tour, activity, and attraction suppliers.

    • Leverage relationships and data to drive account growth and optimize destination performance.

  • Collaborate with Cross-functional Teams:

    • Collaborate with the operations team to develop and execute regional supply optimization strategies.

    • Work closely with various teams across the organization to ensure ongoing growth and meeting company wide KPI’s.

  • Market Insights & Strategy Development:

    • Stay informed on regional and global market conditions, competition, and new opportunities.

    • Share relevant market knowledge with internal stakeholders and management to influence product and marketing strategies.

  • Team Hiring and Development:

    • Hire, onboard, and mentor new team members.

    • Encourage professional development, providing regular feedback and guidance to ensure team growth and success.

  • Travel:

    • Attend trade events, participate in regional speaking engagements, and attend internal team meetings as required. 

Key Skills & Experience

  • Experience

    • 7+ years in account management, with leadership experience.

    • Travel industry experience preferred, specifically with tours, activities, or attractions.

  • Leadership Skills

    • Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire teams toward achieving goals.

    • Skilled in team development and fostering a high-performance culture.

  • Strategic Thinking

    • Expertise in creating and executing strategies aligned with company goals.

    • Ability to analyze market trends and identify growth opportunities.

  • Performance Management

    • Proficient in tracking progress and adjusting strategies based on performance.

    • Skilled in mentoring team members to help them achieve their goals.

    • Ability to use data to guide decisions and ensure targets are met.

  • Analytical and Data-Driven

    • Ability to use data to track metrics, identify trends, and guide decisions.

  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills

    • Skilled in collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

    • Expertise in influencing, negotiating, and building strong relationships.

    • Clear and effective communication of expectations, progress, and challenges.

    • Skilled in overcoming obstacles to ensure success.

  • Strong Organizational Skills

    • Highly organized, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.

    • Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines consistently
