The Manager, Treasury Services involves maintenance of the cash management function and supporting the VP, Finance Operations with the lending and debt structuring responsibilities for the company and its subsidiaries. On the cash management front, the Manager will be responsible for working with Business Unit Finance leaders in amalgamating forecasting and monitoring cash positions for the consolidated entity, providing support in optimizing and managing the investments portfolio strategy and providing oversight to daily cash activities Additionally, the Manager will provide support for interest rate risk management, fraud prevention, covenant and banking compliance and reporting in general. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage treasury-related corporate policies, procedures, and requirements including fraud prevention.
  • Prepare regular monthly reports on corporate liquidity, debt capacity, corporate funding, foreign exchange, and other treasury-related topics.
  • Administration of corporate credit facilities/accounts (Corporate Revolver and various Letter of Credit facilities), including compliance and reporting.
  • Regularly communicate with lenders and other financial service providers.
  • Oversee the corporate cash function, including global cash positions, movements, and liquidity; manage working capital and funding requirements; forecasting, and report to VP, Finance Operations.
  • Working closely with finance and responsible for AP payment approval and optimizing workflow.
  • Oversee the corporate trade finance function, including letters of credit outstanding, optimizing issuing structure to manage costs, operational efficiencies and liquidity utilization.
  • Support the development, implementation, and enhancement of hedging strategies to manage and mitigate key exposures to currency and interest rates at the corporate and subsidiary levels, including: Identifying and realizing financial optimizations, such as (i) a portfolio approach to hedging; and (ii) using natural hedges where possible to match cash inflows and outflows, and/or funding and repayments.
  • Modelling FX methodologies (theoretical) and recommending hedging strategies (application) to support development, growth, and operational activities.
  • Collaborate with multiple internal business units including Development, M&A, Accounting, FP&A, Legal, and Tax to support new development opportunities, acquisitions, and ad-hoc projects.

Qualification and Experience 

  • A minimum of 5 years in finance and/or cash management functions in a corporate finance or treasury department or in banking operations.
  • Experience with corporate equity and/or debt issuances as well as currency and interest rate hedging.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge dealing with multi-national banks.
  • Strong knowledge of debt markets - private and public, and cash management and investment portfolio experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise junior team members.
  • Collaborate effectively with the VP, Finance and SVP, Finance to implement improved financial reporting, controls, policies, systems, and processes.
  • Effective change & project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Bachelor of Commerce / Business Administration is required.
  • Intermediate/Advanced level Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to present to senior level management.
  • Highly functional in a fast paced, constantly changing entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to work through conflict and build trust both upwards and downwards.
  • Attention to detail, efficient time-management, and effective planning skills with the ability to quickly adapt to multiple and often changing schedules and priorities in a deadline driven environment.
