TITLE:  Senior/Staff Engineering Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:

As an Engineering Technician in Product Performance, you will be supporting a cross functional team of engineers and technicians focused on identifying key performance criteria and developing robust test methods that will accelerate the development of medical instruments for our robotic platform. You will be tasked with the implementation and refinement of efficient test methods and test tools as well as organizing and conducting tests on prototype endoscopic instruments and components.

The ideal candidate would act with passion and intensity in a medical device start-up that is both fast paced and collaborative and will display the ability to perform to the requirements outlined below. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Effectively self-manage time and work across multiple project tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Design and implement test methods and test hardware both alone and in close partnership with engineers using CAD and rapid prototyping techniques
  • Execute test protocols to help characterize device performance or assembly processes.
  • Investigate performance issues and assist engineering on documenting and implementing assembly process improvements.
  • Coordinate and support prototype builds.
  • Perform test equipment qualification and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Utilize hand tools and/or precision devices and microscopes to aid in prototyping and testing.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years working in the medical device industry with experience in medical device manufacturing and testing.
  • Positive demeanor with a strong work ethic and desire to be a big part of a growing organization.
  • Good mixture of design/build/test/figure-it-out skills.
  • Experience in rapid prototyping with 3D printing technology
  • Familiar with medical device manufacturing processes such as applying adhesive, UV curing, cutting techniques, soldering, and optics assembly.
  • Experience with test process development, test equipment/tooling development, and test execution with a variety of test equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills – ability to communicate in English orally and via writing.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Basic familiarity with Solidworks, Altium, or other 3D CAD software

Triton Robotics is located in Burlingame, CA, near the Millbrae Caltrain and BART Station.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting annual base salary for this role is between $85,000 and $135,000 depending on experience. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: education, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for equity, benefits and 401(K) with matching.
