Business Development Manager - Plastic Lumber

Triumvirate Environmental (BestPLUS) is looking for a seasoned Business Development Manager to drive explosive growth of recycled plastic lumber to multiple markets, such as synthetic turf, landscaping construction, truck & trailer, pallets, marine, HVAC, steel and agriculture in the FL, AL, MS US regions. We have recently added significant manufacturing capacity to improve and expand our product line.  We are searching for an individual looking for a challenge to grow their territory and their earning potential.

Reporting to the VP/GM of Plastic Lumber, the new Business Development Manager will have a realistic opportunity to achieve significant growth in each of the next few years.

Our BestPLUS recycled plastic lumber business is part of a larger strategy to help customers become greener and more sustainable. We’ve developed a proprietary process that converts a variety of waste materials into multiple grades and profiles of plastic lumber for many applications and markets. Our products and solutions have been well-received by the market. We are looking for a high energy sales pro to help us reach more customers and geographies.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Learn the intricacies of the plastic lumber market.
  • Continue your education in the sales and marketing process and expand your knowledge of techniques to become a more successful sales representative.
  • Manage and expand an existing book of business in the FL, AL, MS market(s), potentially expanding to LA.
  • Assist the BestPLUS team in nationwide sales efforts by attending shows and team strategy sessions.
  • Identify, prospect and close large repeat accounts in key markets such as construction, truck & trailer, landscaping, pallets, synthetic turf, marine, HVAC, steel, and agriculture.
  • Pursue regional OEMs, distributors, retailers, local branches, and large contractors.
  • Become knowledgeable in and sell multiple grades and profiles of plastic lumber to meet a variety of performance and aesthetic requirements.
  • Must be able to travel at least 70% of the time within the assigned territory.
  • Cold calling and developing new prospects.
  • Understand and present plastic lumber value proposition vs. wood and other plastic lumber offerings.
  • Use Oracle/CPQ (CRM)to document all sales activity.
  • Navigate market channels and segments with an awareness of avoiding channel conflict.
  • Collect and share market and competitive intelligence.
  • Help drive innovation by asking questions, listening to customer needs and collaborating with manufacturing, sales and marketing.
  • Use networking to develop relationships and referrals.
  • Proximity to the Tampa Metropolitan area a big plus!

Desired Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree
  • 3+ years of sales experience in industrial B2B markets
  • Experience with plastic or treated lumber is a plus!
  • Track record of closing new business and large accounts, ideally with repeat business.
  • Experience with OEMs, distributors, retailers and large contractors.
  • Experience in one or more of our target markets – construction, truck & trailer, landscaping, pallets, synthetic turf, marine, HVAC, steel and agriculture.
  • Experience calling on corporate and regional decision makers.
  • High energy and highly self-motivated!
  • Ability to work independently and entrepreneurially.
  • Effectively build and maintain exceptional working relationships using strong communication skills.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship 
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation
