General Labourer

Photech Environmental Services Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking a Warehouse Labourer to join our team at our Niagara Falls, ON location.   

Photech Environmental Solutions provides hazardous waste disposal services to industrial, research and institutional facilities across Ontario where chemical wastes are sorted, packaged and removed from generator facilities and shipped to our hazardous waste transfer and processing facility in Niagara Falls, ON.  Photech employs general warehouse labourers who work in our warehouse to load and unload trucks, organize materials, operate vacuum trucks and process materials. 

Responsibilities: 

• Unload incoming trailers
• Load outbound trailers with supplies and material as needed.
• Frequent forklift operation.
• QC and organize inbound material in designated spaces in the warehouse.
• Operate a vacuum tanker.
• Operate processing machinery such as an industrial shredder, a steel drum crusher, hydraulic drum press for rags.
• Aid in processing materials such as blowing off fire extinguishers, consolidating aerosols, crushing rags, shredding.
• Material handling including but not limited to the handling of bottles, pails, 205 L drums and 1000 L totes.  Loading, stacking, pumping, lifting and general bulking using applicable material handling procedures and equipment.
• Daily workspace maintenance including, but not limited to cleaning (sweeping, washing, sanitizing) and general organization.
• Use of company provided personal protective equipment (PPE) includes coveralls, Tyvek apron, CSA approved work boots, hard hat, full-face respirator and task specific gloves.
• Occasional seasonal (April through October) weekend overtime work, either in the production space or in the field as a team member on a mobile household hazardous waste collection event crew.

Basic Requirements: 

• Develop an understanding of *WHMIS regulations, *Triumvirate health and safety practices, and *TDG regulations.
• Learn and apply basic knowledge of daily work practices.

Schedule and Salary:

• Monday through Friday from 6AM-230PM
• Occasional overtime
• From $22.00/hour
