You’ll lead the charge in bringing accounting functions in-house, implementing systems and controls that enable us to operate efficiently, accurately, and in compliance as we expand. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments, is excited by building from the ground up, and loves creating structure from ambiguity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all core accounting operations including general ledger, AR/AP, revenue recognition, consolidations, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Build and mentor an in-house accounting team—hiring, training, and developing future leaders
- Manage and optimize our ERP system implementation (NetSuite experience strongly preferred)
- Establish, document, and maintain robust accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Ensure accurate and timely financial statements, variance analyses, and management reporting
- Oversee audits, tax filings, and compliance with relevant state and federal regulations
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and Operations to support business initiatives and improve financial visibility
- Drive process improvement and automation across accounting workflows, ensuring scalability as the company grows
- Serve as a key liaison between Finance, Legal, and external stakeholders, providing data-driven insights to leadership
- Support forecasting and budgeting efforts in collaboration with the CFO, Controller, and FP&A
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership of accounting teams
- Proven success in building or transitioning accounting functions in-house (from outsourced or start-up environments)
- ERP implementation experience required; NetSuite experience preferred
- Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworks (SOX familiarity a plus)
- Strong systems mindset—comfortable evaluating, integrating, and optimizing accounting technologies
- Exceptional project management and process documentation skills
- Ability to communicate complex accounting concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Comfortable in a high-growth, fast-changing environment where priorities shift and structure evolves
- A collaborative, proactive, and solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving
