The Opportunity

As a Tax Manager at Tronconi Segarra & Associates (TSA), you will own a portfolio of business and individual clients and serve as their trusted advisor from start to finish. You will oversee tax compliance and planning across a broad mix of entity types and industries, review and sign returns, and lead the teams that deliver the work. This role is ideal for a well-rounded tax professional who wants real ownership of client relationships, enjoys developing others, and is looking for the autonomy to build and manage their own book.

TSA’s Tax practice is built on a generalist model, giving managers exposure to a wide range of clients rather than a single niche, with room to deepen expertise as you advance. Supported by TSA’s strategic partnership with Ascend, the practice is positioned for continued growth. You will work alongside Tax leadership to serve clients, mentor staff and seniors, and help shape a culture of accountability, coaching, and high-quality client service. This is a hybrid role based in our Williamsville, NY office.

How You’ll Help Us Build a Confident Future

  • Serve as the primary relationship lead for a portfolio of closely held businesses and individuals, delivering responsive, high-quality service.
  • Oversee tax compliance and planning for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, and C corporations.
  • Review and sign returns, ensuring work meets TSA’s quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Anticipate client needs and identify planning, advisory, and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and scope, communicating proactively with clients.
  • Plan, assign, and review the work of staff and seniors, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Coach and mentor team members, contributing to training and the Firm’s recruiting efforts.
  • Stay current on tax law changes and translate complex matters into clear guidance for clients.
  • Use the Firm’s technology, including AI-enabled tools where appropriate, to improve quality and efficiency.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Active CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) credential.
  • Progressive public accounting tax experience 5+ years, including review responsibility.
  • Broad experience with business entity and individual tax compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and lead a team.

The annual base salary range for this role is $80,000 – $120,000. This range includes the anticipated low and high end of TSA’s salary range for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on various factors, including experience, education and/or skill level.
