Talent & People Lead
About us
Thesis is building the AI-powered care team platform for infinitely scalable clinical capacity. We radically increase access and improve quality of care by combining AI agents with clinical experts to take on high-impact clinical operations and care management activities for healthcare organizations.
We’re based in NYC, are growing rapidly, and are backed by $60 million in funding from Oak HC/FT, CRV, Black Opal Ventures, and experienced C-level healthtech angel investors.
About the role
As our Talent & People Lead, you’ll own the end-to-end strategy and execution of recruiting at Thesis, standing up the systems, processes, and pipelines to hire exceptional talent across product, engineering, clinical/ops, and go-to-market. Over time, you’ll expand into People Operations, building scalable programs for onboarding, HRIS/benefits, performance, and culture. As our first hire in this function, this is an individual contributor role with high visibility, exposure to multiple areas of the business, and significant upside as we scale.
Responsibilities:
- Own the recruiting engine: intake, sourcing, outreach, screening, structured interviews, references, and closing for priority roles across product, engineering, clinical/ops, and go-to-market.
- Source proactively: create market maps and targeted outbound campaigns for hard-to-fill roles in tech and healthcare; maintain warm benches and talent communities.
- Establish employer brand: drive JD quality, careers page inputs, role briefs, and build Thesis’s presence on LinkedIn and relevant communities.
- Support People Ops foundations: HRIS/benefits/payroll, onboarding and 30/60/90 plans, comp banding, performance/feedback cycles, and culture programs.
- Strategic planning: Partner with leadership on quarterly hiring plans, role definitions/leveling, and compensation banding.
We expect you to have:
- Recruiting depth + agency foundation: 4–8+ years in recruiting and/or people operations, including top-tier search or agency training in tech and/or healthcare. You have full-cycle ownership experience and a track record of closing challenging searches.
- Process and data orientation: You build dashboards, inspect funnel metrics, and iterate quickly to improve pass-through rates and time-to-hire.
- Executive presence and discretion: Crisp communicator trusted with sensitive information and high-stakes conversations with senior candidates, hiring managers, and employees.
- Startup readiness: Early-stage experience (Seed–Series B) and comfort operating with ambiguity. Hands-on familiarity with modern ATS platforms (Greenhouse, Ashby, or Lever) and HRIS/payroll systems (Rippling, Gusto, or similar).
- NYC-based: You are based in New York and excited to be in-office 3+ days per week.
Target compensation for this role is $180–$220k+, plus equity and a generous benefits package.
