YOUR MISSION

At True Anomaly, software forms the backbone of our innovation. As a Level 3 DevOps Engineer, you are expected to demonstrate technical leadership and independence in designing and implementing complex infrastructure solutions. This role requires you to drive initiatives, mentor junior team members, and make architectural decisions that impact our entire technology stack. You will be responsible for establishing best practices and ensuring our infrastructure scales to meet the demands of critical space security applications. This role is ideal for individuals with hands-on experience who are eager to deepen their expertise in cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and container orchestration in secure, classified environments. You'll work closely with program engineering teams, serving as a trusted technical resource while staying connected to our core platform teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines, establishing standards and best practices for automation across multiple teams and projects
  • Partner with program engineering teams to support application deployments in secure and classified environments, translating operational needs into requirements for the broader platform organization
  • Architect and optimize container orchestration strategies, including multi-cluster Kubernetes deployments and service mesh implementations
  • Drive cloud infrastructure initiatives independently, making architectural decisions on scalability, reliability, disaster recovery, and cost optimization strategies
  • Design and implement complex Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform, including custom module development, state management strategies, and multi-environment deployments
  • Lead security initiatives by conducting infrastructure security assessments, implementing zero-trust architectures, and ensuring compliance with DoD security standards
  • Establish comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and observability strategies using advanced tooling to ensure system reliability and performance at scale
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams on DevOps best practices and methodologies
  • Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency across the engineering organization
  • Lead incident response efforts and conduct root cause analysis for complex system failures
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define infrastructure roadmaps and capacity planning strategies

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant technical field
  • 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or infrastructure automation
  • Expert-level proficiency in Linux systems administration and advanced scripting (Bash, Python, Go)
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing complex CI/CD pipelines at scale
  • Deep expertise with containerization (Docker) and production Kubernetes deployments, including custom operator development
  • Extensive experience with multiple cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and advanced Infrastructure as Code implementations
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions
  • Strong understanding of security best practices, including secrets management, network security, and compliance frameworks
  • Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring team members
  • U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance (TS/SCI eligibility a plus)

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Professional certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, or GCP Professional Cloud Architect)
  • Experience with GitOps methodologies and tools (ArgoCD, Flux)
  • Knowledge of service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd)
  • Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud architectures
  • Background in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated industries
  • Experience with infrastructure compliance and auditing tools
  • Contributions to open-source DevOps/infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated ability to work across teams with competing priorities, communicating technical constraints and advocating for engineering standards in stakeholder-facing settings

COMPENSATION

  • Colorado Base Salary: $90,000 - $155,000
  • California Base Salary: $95,000 - $165,000
  • Equity + Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental Leave 

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, location, and experience. 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Work Location—this is a fully onsite role. Candidates must be based in or able to commute to our Denver or Long Beach office daily.
  • Work environment—the work environment; temperature, noise level, inside or outside, or other factors that will affect the person's working conditions while performing the job.
  • Physical demands—the physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, lifting and driving.
