OUR MISSION

True Anomaly delivers decisive capabilities for space superiority. We build autonomous spacecraft, advanced payloads, mission software, and space-based interceptors — enabling the U.S. and its Allies to secure the space environment and counter threats from the ultimate high ground.

OUR VALUES

  • Be the offset. We create asymmetric advantages with creativity and ingenuity.
  • What would it take? We challenge assumptions to deliver ambitious results.
  • It's the people. Our team is our competitive advantage and we are better together.

YOUR MISSION

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Digital Engineering team, you will build and own major parts of the in-house software behind our digital thread — full-stack applications that become our systems of record for product, manufacturing, and operations data, and the services and integrations that connect them across the product lifecycle. You will take features and services from design to production, lead projects end to end, and help shape the patterns the rest of the team builds on.

Integrations bridge the off-the-shelf systems we run today; the larger job is building the software that takes their place. You will work directly with the engineers, buyers, and technicians who use what you build, turning real workflows into software they would rather use — while keeping product data authoritative and traceable.

This is an ideal role for an experienced full-stack engineer who wants real ownership, enjoys working close to users, and wants to help build a new software team in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. You'll work in an AI-native environment where using AI to accelerate your impact is expected.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Design & Build

  • Design and build full-stack features and services end to end — data model, services and APIs, workflow, and web user interface — and operate them in production.
  • Model domain data for systems of record — parts, revisions, BOMs, change orders, and as-built records — with lifecycle states and traceability.
  • Build integrations and event-driven data flows between our software and the off-the-shelf tools it works alongside.
  • Write technical designs for your projects and drive them through review.

Delivery & Operations

  • Lead projects from scoping through delivery, breaking down work and keeping it moving.
  • Carry out parts of migrations from off-the-shelf tools to in-house software, including data migration, parallel operation, and cutover.
  • Build observability, auditability, and data-quality checks into what you ship, and help run it in production.
  • Uphold engineering standards through code review, testing, and technical documentation.

Collaboration & Mentorship

  • Mentor early-career engineers through pairing, code review, and design feedback.
  • Work directly with engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing users to understand real workflows and ship software that fits them.
  • Work with the teams that own today's engineering and business systems to design integrations that respect how those systems are run.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record shipping and operating production applications and services.
  • Experience building user-facing web applications end to end — from data model and APIs to a modern front end (e.g., TypeScript, React).
  • Solid experience with API design, relational data modeling, and reliably moving data between systems.
  • Experience leading a project or feature area from design through delivery.
  • Experience operating software in production, including monitoring, debugging, and incident response.
  • Cloud fluency (e.g., AWS) and working knowledge of CI/CD and security fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Go, Python, TypeScript).
  • Clear written communication, including technical design documents.
  • U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. Person) as required under ITAR.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with event-driven architectures and system-integration patterns.
  • Experience building, extending, or integrating PLM, ERP, manufacturing execution (MES), requirements/ALM, or MBSE systems.
  • Experience with versioned, auditable records and end-to-end traceability.
  • Experience migrating users and data from an off-the-shelf system to in-house software.
  • Strong product sense and experience working directly with engineering, manufacturing, or operations users.
  • Experience with Go, infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform), and GitOps.
  • Background in aerospace, defense, or another regulated, hardware-driven domain.

COMPENSATION

  • Denver, Colorado Base Salary: $155,000 – $215,000
  • Long Beach, California Base Salary: $160,000 – $225,000
  • Equity + Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental Leave

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, location, and experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This role operates in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment supporting national security space operations, where adaptability and rapid decision-making are essential.
  • Requires coordination across teams, including engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing.
  • May require participation in an on-call and support rotation to keep our software reliable in production.
  • Occasional travel to other company sites as needed.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
  • Work Location: this role is fully onsite at our facilities in Denver, CO or Long Beach, CA. #LI-Onsite
  • Work environment is a standard office setting, working at a desk or on a production factory floor.
  • Physical demands may include frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, and lifting or carrying items up to 20 lbs.
