At Truecaller, our Security Team is dedicated to proactively embedding security into every layer of our product development lifecycle, acting as a trusted partner and enabler for our engineering teams. As a Product Security Engineer

You will develop the future of Truecaller's application security by revealing potential weaknesses and working with the teams to implement creative solutions to remove those weaknesses. The work will include strategic thinking to solve systematic issues and deep technical work on specific vulnerabilities.

In your work, you will be responsible for driving security initiatives from start to finish, while being a trusted advisor for our employees on matters that involve software development! We offer a unique opportunity to build and define the foundational pillars of Truecaller's product security program from the ground up. You won't just be joining a team; you'll be instrumental in shaping its processes, tools, and culture. This is a chance to have a direct, measurable impact on how security is perceived and implemented across a global product.

The impact you will create:

  • Security Reviews: assist our development teams with guidance and security reviews of features and services.
  • Secure Coding: provide education for our developers to write secure code. This is a key enabler for a proactive approach to security
  • Security Tools: work with and maintain a suite of security tools to enable rapid secure development that builds confidence in our products.
  • Vulnerability Management: act as the main responsible for triaging, verifying, and working with our business units to fix vulnerabilities that are reported to us through community efforts, mainly our bug bounty program, and other channels.

What you bring in:

  • Experience working with software development or closely related fields.
  • Knowledge of various well-known security weaknesses and their mitigations.
  • Ability to perform internal penetration tests of new features and the ability to reproduce vulnerabilities.
  • Strong communication skills that enable you to effectively communicate and drive improvements throughout the organization.

It would be great if you also have:

  • Track record of driving a significant organization-wide project from start to finish.
