Operations Manager, Wholesale

True Classic is seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager to lead our wholesale fulfillment and inventory operations, supporting our growing business with major national retail partners such as Target, Costco, Kohl’s, and other leading chains. This individual will play a critical role in scaling our wholesale channel through strong cross-functional leadership, operational rigor, and deep experience in retail compliance and vendor operations—ideally within the apparel industry.

All roles at True Classic are global and omnichannel, driving accountability across product categories, regions, and sales/marketing channels.

Areas of Accountability

Strategic Operations & Process Improvement

  • Serve as the strategic leader of wholesale operations, continuously identifying opportunities to enhance scalability, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Build and implement process improvements, tools, and SOPs to support evolving retail partner needs and operational complexity.
  • Monitor and optimize key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time, in-full shipments (OTIF) and chargebacks as a % of revenue.
  • Hire, manage and mentor a team of analysts and operations staff, providing direction, coaching, and support in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Cross-functional Leadership

  • Lead collaborative efforts with Planning, Sales, Operations, Finance, and Production teams to drive seamless execution of wholesale programs.
  • Create accountability and foster a results-driven environment across departments to ensure alignment and timely execution.
  • Manage external partners such as 3PLs, display / kitting vendors, manufacturers and logistics providers to foster collaborative and mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Provide reporting and visibility to cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership, highlighting opportunities and risks proactively.

Fulfillment & Vendor Management

  • Partner with the Planning team to ensure purchase orders (POs) are submitted to manufacturers on schedule and aligned to the wholesale sales plan.
  • Ensure all orders meet retailer-specific labeling, packaging, and compliance standards.
  • Oversee on-time, in-full shipments from manufacturers to meet retail partner load-in deadlines.
  • Monitor performance and compliance of vendors, flagging risks to delivery or quality standards early.

Retail Compliance & Chargeback Mitigation

  • Manage vendor portal set-up such as item creation, GTIN part number creation, inbound shipment requests, among other requirements.
  • Proactively monitor chargebacks, working with internal and external partners to dispute, resolve, and reduce future instances.
  • Stay current on evolving requirements from retailers to ensure we maintain preferred vendor status.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in wholesale operations, retail logistics, or inventory management, preferably in the apparel or consumer goods industry.
  • Proven track record of managing programs for national retail chains such as Target, Costco, Kohl’s, Walmart, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of retailer compliance requirements, chargeback processes, and PO lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated experience in cross-functional project management and delivering on complex fulfillment schedules.
  • A builder's mindset to identify needs and implement processes to evolve the organization.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, solve problems, and drive process improvements.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and team leadership skills.
  • Experience with EDI systems such as SPS Commerce and ERP systems such as Netsuite.
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Looker, a plus.

  • Salary Range: $100K -$130K
