
QA and Compliance Manager
True Classic is hiring a hands-on QA Manager to take ownership of quality execution across our global production network. This role will lead day-to-day quality management across factories, enforce consistent standards, and bring structure to a currently underdeveloped quality and compliance process. You will work closely with Production, Product Development, and vendors to ensure product is produced correctly, inspected properly, and shipped without quality or compliance risk.
All of True Classic’s roles are global and omni-channel, leading designated areas of accountability across all product categories, countries, and sales and marketing channels. This role will have impact across DTC, retail, wholesale, marketplaces, and emerging channels, ensuring strategic alignment and executional rigor across the enterprise.
Areas of Accountability
Quality Execution & Vendor Management
- Own quality performance across all production orders, ensuring consistency in construction, fit, and fabric performance
- Manage factory quality execution, including direction of internal QC and third-party inspections (inline and final)
- Review inspection results, make shipment decisions, and ensure issues are addressed prior to delivery
- Hold vendors accountable for quality standards and drive corrective actions when issues arise
Standards, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Establish and enforce clear quality standards, AQL requirements, and inspection protocols across all vendors
- Track defects, identify root causes, and implement solutions to prevent repeat issues
- Build structure and discipline across quality processes, including inspection calendars, reporting, and escalation protocols
- Build and maintain reporting on defect rates, failure trends, vendor performance, and cost of quality
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rework, waste, and chargebacks
- Implement training and education programs internally and with factory partners
- Establish scalable processes to improve consistency and visibility across production
Compliance
- Ensure products meet compliance requirements for wholesale partners (Target, Walmart, Costco), including testing, labeling, and packaging standards
- Maintain awareness and adherence to regional compliance requirements (Canada, Europe, Asia, Australia)
- Stay up to date on evolving customer and regional quality and compliance requirements and adjust processes accordingly
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Production to align on timelines, risks, and shipment readiness
- Work with Product Development to ensure designs are manufacturable and quality risks are addressed early
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to ensure alignment on quality expectations and execution
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in apparel quality assurance, technical design, or production
- Strong experience managing quality across overseas factories
- Hands-on experience with third-party inspections (SGS, Intertek, etc.) and AQL standards
- Experience supporting wholesale accounts (Target, Walmart, Costco)
- Familiarity with international compliance and regulatory requirements across key global markets
- Deep understanding of garment construction, fabric performance, and common quality issues
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to drive resolution quickly and effectively
- Ability to bring structure and accountability to fast-paced, evolving environments
Workplace Arrangement
This role is based in Calabasas, CA with a hybrid work schedule (3x week in office), combining in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.
