SUMMARY

The Senior Account Director with Meet The People is a recognized thought leader within the Key Account Management department, leader of a portfolio business, and an elevated mentor and coach to talent across the Account Management team.

Crucially, this position requires an elite strategic leader capable of directing the comprehensive needs of a client across a networked system of multiple agencies. The ideal candidate pairs an in-depth, expert-level knowledge of the creative process with master-level strategic media planning capabilities, paired with deep understanding of Data Platforms, AI Tools, and general business understanding of clients' industries and businesses to seamlessly coordinate and deploy solutions across a networked agency ecosystem.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Integrated Creative, Media and Data Mastery: Leverage a deep understanding of brand strategy to seamlessly align creative development with media investments, while ensuring full use of Data Signals, proprietary MTP AI tools for flawless campaign execution that drives measurable business outcomes.
  • Executive Relationship Management:  Maintain senior executive-level relationships; serve as the agency’s primary escalation point for the assigned account; navigate difficult client dynamics with composure and credibility; actively deepen client relationships in ways that drive long-term retention and growth.
  • Networked Agency Leadership: Direct the overarching strategic needs of a key client across an agency network, seamlessly integrating and deploying and selling cross-agency capabilities to maximize enterprise value and client business outcomes.
  • Cross-Ecosystem Orchestration: Drive and manage complex, high-value portfolios across creative, media, and reporting agencies, serving as the primary bridge that aligns brand expression, media delivery and data platform integration..
  • Strategic Oversight:  Hold the highest standard of accountability for the quality and strategic rigor of all work produced across the portfolio - advise on the most complex and high-stakes deliverables; serve as a senior resource for Account Supervisors and Account Managers seeking elevated strategic perspective or counsel on client work.
  • Financial Stewardship: Oversee the financial health of a larger or more complex client portfolio than a typical Account Director; proactively identify network revenue growth opportunities, manage margin, and mitigate financial risk; contribute to departmental pricing and scope strategy in partnership with senior leadership.
  • Departmental Practice Leadership:  Play a meaningful leadership role beyond the assigned portfolio: contribute to account management process development, best practices, training, and quality standards across the department; serve as a senior mentor and coach that extends beyond direct reports.
  • Supervision & Mentorship: Directly supervise an Account Supervisor and an Account Manager.  Identify and nurture high-potential employees; help shape the department’s talent strategy in partnership with senior leadership.
  • Operational + Cultural Excellence:  Serve as a highly visible and active agency culture leader; promote the power of effective teamwork.  Collaborate proactively and demonstrate superior leadership across departments and our agency network. 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

To effectively balance the needs of our agencies and client, this position must be willing to travel between MTP agencies and our key client location.  Expect 25% - 35% travel per month.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Communicate and coordinate with indirect reports’ supervisors to manage cross-team workload and output for assigned clients.

  • 10+ years of account management experience in a business consultancy, an agency or marketing-related setting, including 5+ years in director-level roles with demonstrated new business development and department-level leadership contributions.
  • Expert proficiency with industry tools and systems; deep expertise in marketing/business strategy.
  • Must possess an in-depth, foundational knowledge of the creative development process and workflow combined with deep understanding of data platforms and tools as well as elite strategic media planning capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Google Workplace.

  • Web analytics platform training and certification required within six months; renews as required to maintain certification currency.
  • Scrum Essentials and Agile Essentials on-demand courses required within six months.
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner required within twelve months; renews as required to maintain certification currency.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, with a degree or concentration in advertising, marketing, or communications preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
