Sterilization Assistant
Practice: Dentistry at LaSalle
Location: Burlington, Ontario
Role Type: Part-Time (2 days per week)
Role Hours: Monday & Thursday (12:00pm-4:00pm)
Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Sterilization Assistant to support our clinical team. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a structured environment, takes initiative, and values the importance of maintaining a safe and efficient sterilization workflow. Your work will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of infection control and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities
- Clean, disinfect, package, and sterilize dental instruments according to IPAC standards
- Maintain and monitor sterilization equipment, logs, and biological indicators
- Prepare instrument trays and operatory setups for clinical procedures
- Assist in operatory turnover, including wiping surfaces, replacing barriers, and restocking supplies
- Organize sterile storage areas and ensure proper inventory rotation
- Support the dental team with basic clinical or administrative tasks as needed
- Follow all safety, infection control, and sterilization protocols
- Ensure the steri-centre remains clean, organized, and fully compliant
- Maintain a smooth flow of instruments to support clinical efficiency throughout the day
Qualifications
- Experience in a dental sterilization or dental assisting role is preferred (but training can be provided)
- Strong understanding of infection control and IPAC protocols
- Ability to work efficiently and stay organized in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to safety and accuracy
- Reliable, punctual, and motivated to support a collaborative dental team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow

- Saturday: 2 hygienists (1 Saturday per month, 9am–1pm)

Compensation
• Pay Range: $20.00–$25.00 per hour
