Part-Time Operations Specialist (Outreach)

Our core product, Truework Income, provides access to crucial employment and income information needed for mortgage loans, apartment rentals, background checks and the like. We are disrupting a $5B+ industry, previously controlled by legacy credit agencies, with a better product and intense customer focus. Part-Time Operations Specialist (Outreach)

Location: Remote, United States (only)
Hours: 25-30 hours per week, Monday-Friday

About the Role

At Truework, we’re on a mission to revolutionize employment and income verifications, providing a seamless experience for our customers and users. Our Operations Team plays a critical role in delivering best-in-class service, sitting at the intersection of customer support and our back-end platform. Each month, our product serves hundreds of thousands of unique users, and we’re looking for detail-oriented problem solvers to help us maintain excellence.

Operations Specialists process employment verifications by reaching out to HR and Payroll contacts to ensure accurate and timely completion. Strong communication skills, especially for inbound and outbound calls, are essential to effectively engage with HR teams, request additional information, and follow up on discrepancies. The role requires attention to detail, multitasking, and the ability to manage high volumes of verification requests efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communication: Manage inbound and outbound calls, voicemails, and email correspondence, ensuring clear and efficient communication with HR/Payroll contacts and internal teams to complete verification requests promptly.
  • Follow Up Management: Prioritize and manage a high volume of inbound verification requests, proactively following up on outstanding requests to ensure timely resolution and maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Discovery Techniques: Use creative research and discovery methods to locate new HR/Payroll contacts when existing ones are unavailable, ensuring verification requests are processed without delays.
  • Fraud Prevention: Identify potential fraudulent activity during verification processes and escalate suspicious cases for further investigation and resolution.
  • Issue Resolution: Escalate unclear or ambiguous information to leadership and apply creative problem-solving to resolve verification challenges.
  • Process Adaptation: Navigate and adjust workflows across multiple systems to handle tasks efficiently, ensuring smooth and high-performance operations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify process bottlenecks and contribute to improvements that drive operational efficiency.

Shift Times (PST)
Schedule will include 5-6 hour shifts within the following windows:

  • Early Morning Shift: 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Mid-Morning Shift: 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • Late Morning Shift: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Candidates must be available for the specified timeframes. Exact hours will be agreed upon with the manager before onboarding. Shift preferences will be considered, but the final schedule will depend on business needs.

  • A strong verbal and written communicator who can effectively engage with HR and Payroll contacts, internal teams, and customers to ensure clear and professional interactions.
  • A problem solver with a creative and analytical mindset, approaching challenges with persistence and tenacity.
  • Detail-oriented with a keen eye for accuracy and thoroughness in every task.
  • Security-focused and committed to maintaining the highest standards when handling sensitive data.
  • Process-driven with a passion for identifying efficiencies and continuously improving workflows.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working for a startup or similar environment
  • Bi-lingual language experience (English and Spanish)

Your Team at Truework 

  • You'll collaborate with the Operations teams, including Customer and Ops Support, Pending, Outreach, and Transcription, all essential to the verification process.

Compensation and Training

Pay: $17-$19 per hour based on experience and successful completion of the 90-day probationary period.

Training: Training runs for three weeks from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM PST, including a 30-minute lunch break, and full availability is required during this time.
