Job Summary
The Senior Accountant provides broad, cross-functional accounting support across the Finance department, serving as a key resource capable of backing up multiple roles and ensuring continuity of operations. This position performs advanced accounting activities, supports month-end and year-end close, assists with government contract accounting, and partners with Payroll, Accounts Payable, and other functions as needed. This role also regularly contributes to special projects, including process improvements, internal audits, ERP enhancements, financial analysis, and cross-department initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Contribute to month-end and fiscal year-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and reporting.
- Support complex accounting areas such as revenue recognition, warranties, project accounting, capitalization, and internal controls.
- Assist with financial statements, audit schedules, and annual audit support.
- Assist with CAPA and government entity audits.
- Perform internal audit procedures and support testing for ERP/controls improvements.
- Prepare or review tax schedules including sales/use tax, quarterly estimates, and year-end reporting.
- Serve as a trained backup for multiple Finance functions (AP, AR, Payroll, Gov Contracts, General Ledger).
- Assist with indirect rate support, revenue recognition for government projects, and alignment with FAR/DFARS requirements.
- Support preparation of cost submissions, pricing support, and audit documentation.
- Participate in ERP (D365 Finance & Supply Chain) improvements, testing, and workflow enhancements.
- Support documentation, data validation, training material development, and reporting improvements.
- Lead or support process improvement initiatives across Finance and adjacent departments.
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis to support leadership decision-making.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience; manufacturing or government contracting experience preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems required; Microsoft Dynamics D365 strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with government contract accounting concepts preferred but not required.
- May participate in identity-verification processes required for government or customer portals.
- This position may be asked to drive for company purposes during the course of employment. If asked and agreed upon, employees must possess a valid California Driver’s License and clean driving record.
- May participate in the identity verification process to access secure client or government portals by authorizing certified supplier or customer management platforms to obtain information from your personal credit profile or other information, solely to verify your identity

Pay/Salary Information Pay scale for this position - $85,000- $105,000.00 annually
