Job Summary
The primary purposes of the Industrial Engineer position are to develop methods to maximize the use of production facilities and personnel, support operational and strategic excellence approaches to ensure business success by developing, sustaining, and continuously improving business processes and customer satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Analyze new and existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement, including waste reduction, streamlining workflows, and optimizing resource utilization.
- Design and implement new or improved manufacturing systems, processes, and layouts to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality.
- Diagram and evaluate new and existing processes, develop metrics that provide data for process measurement, and identify indicators to drive future improvement opportunities
- Collect and analyze data related to production processes, including time studies, work sampling, and statistical data analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Estimate production costs, identify cost-saving measures, and evaluate the impact of design changes on expenditures.
- Ensure that work processes engaged with are safe and ergonomic and address any potential safety hazards.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as manufacturing, design engineering, and quality assurance, to develop and implement solutions.
- Manage projects related to process improvements, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
- Work with our manufacturing engineering team and supporting organizations to ensure Lean Manufacturing principles are incorporated into factory design and layout
- Plan and implement process improvement initiatives, such as Lean or Six Sigma
- Research and analyze best practices for techniques and processes
- Help ensure that the company's financial goals are met through timely completion of projects, process improvements, overhead reduction and other initiatives
- Collect and evaluate performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop work cell layout and tooling/equipment requirements, using Lean Six Sigma and 5S+1 principles.
- Establish Value Stream Maps of the build and test processes during early product phases, then iterate those maps during changes in volume and product configurations.
- Lead and support kaizen events
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or an equivalent discipline
- 2-5 years’ experience in Industrial Engineering or Continuous Improvement
- Green-Belt or Lean Bronze certification preferred
- Proficiency with Lean Manufacturing concepts and practice
- Proficiency with time studies
- Proficiency with Visio or Value Stream Mapping
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis tools
- Familiarity with project management
- Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing
- Familiarity with manufacturing systems (ERP, MES, PowerBI, etc.)
- Familiarity with mechanical or electrical drawings/schematics
- Professional written and verbal interpersonal communication skills
- High attention to detail, analytical
- Ability to perform the above duties with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated experience in high-paced, multi-faceted working environments with frequent changes in priority and responsibility.
- May participate in the identity verification process to access secure client or government portals by authorizing certified supplier or customer management platforms to obtain information from your personal credit profile or other information, solely to verify your identity.
Physical Requirements
- Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person, on the telephone or virtually.
- Dexterity of hands, fingers, and wrist to operate a computer keyboard, calculator, or assemble/manufacture intricate items.
- Seeing to read a variety of materials.
- Sitting or standing for extended period of time.
- Physical agility to lift up to 30 pounds to shoulder height. Any items that weigh more than 30 pounds will require two or more people or a lifting device to move.
- Physical agility to lift, carry, push, or pull objects.
Pay/Salary Information
Pay scale for this position - $95,000- $110,000.00 annually
