Job Summary
This Compliance Specialist I is intended to develop foundational knowledge of customer flow downs, regulatory requirements, and supplier compliance processes within a regulated manufacturing environment. The Compliance Specialist I supports the organization’s regulatory, contractual, and customer compliance activities by assisting with compliance documentation, customer request tracking, supplier communication, and record control. Working under established procedures and guidance, this role helps ensure customer compliance requests are processed accurately, supplier documentation is collected and maintained, and compliance records are audit ready.
The Compliance Specialist II independently manages customer compliance and regulatory requests, supports contract and purchase order review for compliance-related requirements, and ensures appropriate flow down of customer, regulatory, and contractual obligations to suppliers. This role serves as a key interface between internal teams, suppliers, customers, and third-party compliance management service providers.
The Compliance Specialist II ensures compliance documentation is accurate, traceable, and audit-ready in alignment with AS9100, ISO 9001, DCMA/DoD, and customer requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Compliance & Regulatory Management
- Own end-to-end processing of customer compliance requests, including REACH, RoHS, CMRT/EMRT, UL, CE, material declarations, and compliance-related CoC inputs.
- Ensure responses meet customer specifications, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate compliance status, risks, and limitations to internal stakeholders and customers.
Contract / PO Review & Customer Flow Downs
- Review customer contracts and purchase orders to identify compliance, regulatory, and customer flow down requirements.
- Document identified requirements and coordinate with Purchasing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Engineering to ensure proper implementation.
FAR / DFARS Flow Down
- Identify applicable FAR/DFARS clauses in customer contracts and POs.
- Ensure FAR/DFARS requirements are flowed down to suppliers and properly documented.
- Maintain objective evidence of supplier compliance to flowed-down requirements.
Supplier Compliance Management
- Obtain, review, and maintain supplier compliance documentation and certifications.
- Support supplier onboarding and evaluation from a compliance perspective.
- Work with suppliers to resolve compliance documentation gaps.
Customer-Flowed Special Process Requirements
- Identify customer-flowed special process requirements during contract and PO review.
- Verify supplier approvals and Nadcap accreditation when required by customer flow down.
- Maintain documentation demonstrating identification, flow down, and supplier verification.
Audit & Record Control
- Maintain compliance records in accordance with internal procedures and audit expectations.
- Support internal, customer, registrar, and DCMA/DoD audits by providing compliance evidence.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Environmental Science, or related field OR equivalent professional experience.
- 3 - 6 years experience in compliance, quality, supply chain, or regulated manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting customer compliance requests and contract/PO review processes.
- Working knowledge of REACH, RoHS, CMRT/EMRT, and other compliances and regulations.
- Working understanding of FAR/DFARS flow down requirements
- Strong documentation and traceability discipline
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
- Effective cross-functional and supplier communication skills
- This position may be asked to drive for company purposes during the course of employment. If asked and agreed upon, employees must possess a valid California Driver’s License and clean driving record.
- May Participate in the identity verification process to access secure client or government portals by authorizing certified supplier or customer management platforms to obtain information from your personal credit profile or other information, solely to verify your identity.

Pay/Salary Information
Pay scale for this position - $30.00 - $40.00 Hourly
