Technology & Cyber Security Risk Intern

As a Technology & Cyber Security Risk Intern, you will be part of Trust’s Second Line of Defence Risk Team and contribute to building modern, data-driven, and automated risk management practices. You will gain hands-on experience in technology risk, cyber security risk, and emerging AI governance while working alongside experienced risk professionals.
What You Will Do
AI Risk Management & Governance
- Support with the development of AI Frameworks and Risk Management
- Research and learn about AI risks, governance frameworks, and industry best practices
- Assist in monitoring AI tool usage across the organization
- Help document AI/ML risks including data privacy, bias, and security considerations
- Support the team in developing AI risk assessment templates and guidelines
- Participate in reviewing AI use cases and identifying potential risks
Risk Monitoring & Analysis
- Learn to use risk dashboards and monitoring tools to track technology and cyber risks
- Assist in collecting and analyzing risk data from various sources
- Help maintain risk registers and documentation
- Support the team in preparing risk reports and presentations
Automation & Scripting
- Learn to automate simple risk tasks using Python or SQL
- Assist in testing automated risk workflows and dashboards
- Help validate data quality through basic scripting
- Support the team in documenting automation processes
Learning & Development
- Gain exposure to cloud security concepts (AWS) and DevSecOps practices
- Learn about regulatory requirements (MAS TRM, PDPA) and how they apply to technology risk
- Participate in security testing activities and incident response exercises
- Shadow risk professionals during risk assessments and audits
- Attend workshops, training sessions, and team meetings
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for interns who are curious, analytical, and excited about technology risk management and AI governance.
Education
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Data Science, Risk Management, Information Systems, Engineering, or related fields
- Penultimate or final year students preferred
What We’re Looking For
- Awareness of AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, etc.)
- Completed projects on AI or relevant certifications (desirable)
- Basic programming knowledge (Python, SQL, or any language)
- Interest in data analysis or visualization
- Basic understanding of technology concepts
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity or cloud concepts
- Experience with research and documentation
- Genuine curiosity about cybersecurity, technology risk, and AI
- Interest in learning about risk management in financial services
- Proactive mindset and willingness to ask questions
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
