About the Role:

You will be joining our Professional Expansion squad and primarily focusing on building out new features, incorporating AI, improving test coverage, performance and system stability. The Professional Expansion team is focused on building out and scaling the company’s professional-facing products and partnerships—especially around advisors, attorneys, and nonprofit organizations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Advisor Platform Growth
    • Establish and staff a dedicated professional expansion team (engineering, product, and sales) to build and launch features that attract and retain paid advisors
    • Deliver advisor engagement and retention features (e.g., tools that boost advisor productivity).
    • Enable advisors to ingest non–Trust & Will estate plans to generate summaries and help jump-start new estate plans .
    • Begin foundational work for seat-based pricing and subscription models, allowing advisors to self-serve subscriptions.
    • Launch integrations with popular financial and CRM products (e.g., Wealthbox, Redtail, RightCapital, Salesforce) to increase adoption.
  • Nonprofit (NPO) Partnerships
    • Build and launch an MVP for nonprofit organizations to recruit early customers.
    • Deliver dashboards and feedback loops for NPOs to track usage and client engagement .
  • Attorney & Professional Services
    • Run attorney webinars for advisors and improve collaboration across the professional network .
    • Explore more complex technical work, such as AI-driven tools to assist attorneys in document processing .

Technical Leadership & Impact

  • Design, architect, and deliver robust, scalable, and high-performance applications and services.
  • Lead system-level design, ensuring robust, secure, and maintainable solutions aligned with organizational standards.
  • Consider AI from a strategic, holistic perspective, architecting solutions with it, integrating it into product ecosystems, and harnessing its potential to drive transformative innovation.
  • Own and drive technical decisions across multiple teams, ensuring alignment with business objectives and long-term strategic goals.
  • Implement and champion best practices for system reliability, performance optimization, and code quality, including test automation and modern CI/CD workflows.
  • Address organization-wide technical challenges, such as scaling systems, improving performance, and enhancing reliability.
  • Implement AI tooling and paradigms to improve developer efficiency, automate workflows, and enhance system reliability.

Quality & Impact

  • Deliver high-quality, production-ready code that adheres to best practices, is well-documented, and prioritizes scalability and maintainability.
  • Identify and champion efforts to reduce technical debt and improve system performance through continuous refactoring and optimization.
  • Proactively identify and resolve system bottlenecks and issues using observability and monitoring tools.
  • Drive impactful improvements in system reliability, ensuring seamless user experiences and alignment with business priorities.

Collaboration, Innovation & Mentorship

  • Partner with product managers, designers, and stakeholders across the organization to align technical solutions at a strategic level with customer needs and evolving business goals.
  • Develop a deep understanding of product-market fit, business metrics, and customer empathy to inform analysis and data-driven decision-making.
  • Mentor and guide engineers across varying experience levels, fostering technical growth and knowledge sharing through outcome-based sponsorship.
  • Communicate complex technical topics to diverse audiences, ensuring clarity and alignment on technical decisions.
  • Foster a psychologically safe environment through knowledge-sharing initiatives, peer collaboration, conflict-reduction tactics, and emotional intelligence.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies and tools to enhance engineering capabilities and product innovation to foster a culture of continuous learning and experimentation.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of professional development experience in high-performing teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in developing frontend applications ( React, Typescript ), API design and data modeling (MongoDB, MySQL, Postgres).
  • Experience building and maintaining AWS applications using infrastructure-as-code tools (CloudFormation, AWS CDK).
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container orchestration tools.
  • Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, testable code, following test-driven development, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps best practices.
  • Proficiency in threat modeling, secure-by-design principles, and ensuring compliance with GDPR, SOC2, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced skills in debugging, performance tuning, distributed tracing, and log correlation across microservices.
  • Demonstrated ability in integrating AI code assistants to enhance development productivity and code quality, with hands-on experience using at least one of the following: GitHub Copilot, Cursor, RooCode, or RooCline.
  • Skilled at determining and tracking meaningful engineering metrics to validate solutions and drive decision-making.
