
Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer
About the Role
Truveta is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Senior QA Engineer to serve as the mobile-first quality owner for the Truveta Intelligence apps, with the flexibility to support Truveta Studio and other web product testing as needed.
This role will combine strong manual testing, Azure DevOps Test Plans expertise, mobile diagnostics, lightweight automation awareness, and reliable test operations. The tester will help ensure test planning, execution, evidence capture, defect tracking, and release validation are completed consistently across mobile and web workstreams.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable understanding product requirements, learning product workflows, validating end-user experiences, and identifying quality risks across native mobile, web, authentication, embedded content, and release-candidate scenarios.

Responsibilities
- Perform Truveta mobile testing across iOS and Android, while supporting Studio and other web testing as needed.
- Manage incoming testing requests, priorities, execution capacity, and release validation across mobile and web workstreams.
- Create, maintain, and execute test plans, test suites, and regression coverage in Azure DevOps Test Plans.
- Translate product requirements, designs, user stories, and customer workflows into clear mobile and web test scenarios.
- Maintain a practical device and OS coverage matrix for supported iOS/Android versions, physical devices, simulators/emulators, and priority form factors.
- Test app flows including onboarding, authentication, token refresh, universal links/deep links, install/upgrade, and Dev/Prod validation.
- Validate mobile-specific behavior including app lifecycle, foreground/background transitions, push notifications, permissions, poor-network/offline behavior, orientation, dark mode, accessibility, crash recovery, and performance/stability.
- Validate native/web hybrid experiences, including webviews, embedded content, and chart/content rendering where applicable.
- Perform functional, regression, smoke, exploratory, usability, compatibility, accessibility, and release-candidate testing for the mobile apps and supported web products.
- Test Studio/web workflows when needed, including browser compatibility, responsive layouts, cross-browser regressions, and web feature validation.
- Capture clear test evidence including pass/fail results, screenshots, screen recordings, device logs, crash reports, network traces, repro steps, and defect details in Azure DevOps.
- Identify, document, prioritize, retest, and verify defects across iOS, Android, and web products.
- Partner with product, design, engineering, security, and release teams to assess test coverage, usability issues, privacy/security risks, and release readiness.
- Support lightweight automation, API validation, command-line testing, and scripted checks where appropriate.
- Provide concise QA status, risk summaries, and go/no-go recommendations for releases.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of software QA/testing experience, including hands-on testing of native iOS and Android applications.
- Strong manual, exploratory, regression, release, and defect-management skills.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps Test Plans or a comparable test-management system.
- Experience creating and executing structured test plans from product requirements, designs, user stories, and customer workflows.
- Experience testing mobile authentication, onboarding, deep links/universal links, app lifecycle behavior, permissions, install/upgrade, and release-candidate builds.
- Ability to support web testing when needed, including functional, regression, cross-browser, responsive, and browser-based feature validation.
- Strong attention to detail, execution reliability, and ability to provide concise QA status and release-risk summaries.
- Familiarity with Agile development environments and cross-functional collaboration with product, engineering, design, and release teams.
- Comfortable with command-line tools and basic scripting using Bash, Python, or similar.
Preferred
- Prior web QA experience is a plus, especially testing complex browser-based products, data/analytics workflows, responsive layouts, and cross-browser behavior.
- Experience with web automation tools such as Playwright, or equivalent for Studio-style browser workflows.
- Familiarity with mobile diagnostics and tooling such as Xcode, Android Studio, iOS Simulator, Android Emulator, device logs, crash reports, screen recordings, and network tracing tools.
- Experience with mobile automation frameworks such as Appium, XCUITest, Espresso, Detox, Maestro, or equivalent.
- Experience with TestFlight or Google Play internal/closed testing
- Experience testing healthcare, privacy-sensitive, identity/authentication, or regulated software products.
- Familiarity with mobile security/privacy testing, including secure session behavior, permissions, sensitive-data handling, and OWASP MASVS/MASTG concepts.
- Understanding of release management, CI/CD pipelines, feature flags, production validation, and quality processes.
- Exposure to cloud or healthcare technology platforms.
