Who we are

At Picnic, we’re reinventing the way employees experience lunch at work. By partnering with top local restaurants and batching hundreds of orders, we make it easy for companies to offer high-quality, individually packed meals, without fees or tips. Our mission is to create a seamless, affordable, and joyful lunch experience that benefits both employees and employers.

About the Role

We’re hiring a City Manager to lead Picnic’s expansion into the Bay Area. This is a high-impact, entrepreneurial role that combines strategy, execution, and ownership. You’ll be responsible for making your city successful — working across sales, operations, and restaurant partnerships to build a thriving local ecosystem.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive city success from day one: Set goals, track performance, and adapt strategy based on what’s working - get every company in your city to do lunch in a better way.

  • Lead sales: Work with CEO’s and CxO’s of every major company in your city to get them on Picnic.

  • Own restaurant partnerships: Work with top restaurants to onboard menus, improve presentation, and secure pricing that delights customers

  • Ensure client success: Oversee activations and rollouts for key accounts, ensuring a seamless and exciting launch experience

  • Be the local expert: Understand the dynamics of your market — from competitor activity to customer preferences — and use those insights to guide decisions

  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Work with marketing, ops, product, and leadership to bring ideas to life and scale what works

  • Create the brand awareness in your city: Drive the brand in your city through community engagement

Requirements

  • 3–4 years at a top-tier management consulting firm, top tier investment bank, top tier CPG brand manager. MBA from a top business school is a plus.
  • Strong analytical mindset — you can dig into the numbers to uncover insights and make data-driven decisions

  • Ability to think strategically and act tactically; you enjoy rolling up your sleeves and making things happen

  • Excellent communication and project management skills

  • Entrepreneurial, resourceful, and comfortable with ambiguity

  • Passion for food, startups, or improving the future of work is a big plus
