The Role
We’re hiring a General Manager to lead Picnic’s expansion in the Bay Area. This is a high-impact, entrepreneurial role with full P and L ownership. You will be responsible for making your city successful end to end, owning revenue, costs, and performance while working across sales, operations, and restaurant partnerships to build and scale a thriving local business.
This role is ideal for a hands-on builder who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants real ownership and accountability.
What You’ll Do
- Own the P&L and city performance
Set goals, manage revenue and costs, track performance, and adjust strategy to ensure the market is profitable and growing. - Lead revenue growth locally
Build relationships with CEOs and senior leaders at top companies to drive adoption of Picnic across your city. - Own restaurant partnerships
Identify, onboard, and manage relationships with top local restaurants, working on menus, presentation, and pricing that delights customers and drives margin. - Ensure client success
Oversee activations and launches for key accounts, ensuring a seamless, high-quality rollout experience. - Be the local market expert
Develop a deep understanding of your market, including competitors, customer needs, and local dynamics, and use those insights to guide decisions. - Lead cross-functional execution
Partner closely with marketing, operations, product, and leadership to execute initiatives and scale what works. - Build Picnic’s brand locally
Drive awareness and credibility for Picnic through community engagement and local presence.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree from a top US college
- 10 plus years of professional experience, ideally from top-tier management consulting, investment banking, or CPG brand management, with clear ownership of business outcomes
- MBA from a top business school is a plus
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to manage a business through data
- Ability to think strategically while staying hands on and execution focused
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Entrepreneurial, resourceful, and comfortable operating in ambiguity
- Passion for food, startups, or improving the future of office life
What Else You Should Know
This role is based in our San Francisco office. Picnic is built on close collaboration and rapid iteration, and we do our best work together. As a result, this role is onsite five days a week.
