About the ole
We’re hiring a City Manager to lead Picnic’s expansion into the Chicago market. This is a high-impact, entrepreneurial role that combines strategy, execution, and ownership. You’ll be responsible for making your city successful — working across sales, operations, and restaurant partnerships to build a thriving local ecosystem.
What You’ll Do
- Drive city success from day one: Set goals, track performance, and adapt strategy based on what’s working - get every company in your city to do lunch in a better way.
- Lead sales: Work with CEO’s and CxO’s of every major company in your city to get them on Picnic.
- Own restaurant partnerships: Work with top restaurants to onboard menus, improve presentation, and secure pricing that delights customers
- Ensure client success: Oversee activations and rollouts for key accounts, ensuring a seamless and exciting launch experience
- Be the local expert: Understand the dynamics of your market — from competitor activity to customer preferences — and use those insights to guide decisions
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Work with marketing, ops, product, and leadership to bring ideas to life and scale what works
- Create the brand awareness in your city: Drive the brand in your city through community engagement
Requirements
- 3–4 years at a top-tier management consulting firm, top tier investment bank, top tier CPG brand manager. MBA from a top business school is a plus.
- Strong analytical mindset — you can dig into the numbers to uncover insights and make data-driven decisions
- Ability to think strategically and act tactically; you enjoy rolling up your sleeves and making things happen
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Entrepreneurial, resourceful, and comfortable with ambiguity
- Passion for food, startups, or improving the future of work is a big plus

This role is based in our Chicago office location. We believe that people do their best work when they are together. As a company, we’re in the marketplace of ideas and innovation.
