The Role
We’re looking for a talented and motivated Tax Senior to join a fast-growing, innovative professional advisory firm working with closely held businesses in the automotive retail, construction, manufacturing, distribution, and other for-profit industries. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated, entrepreneurial CP
A with a team mentality and strong technical accounting and tax knowledge. You will be responsible for preparing flow-through and individual tax returns, and coordinating directly with client support staff. Our position provides a unique opportunity for significant growth within our firm, working directly with business owners and their financial professionals.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of complex federal, state, and multi-state corporate tax returns with an emphasis on flow-through entities
- Preparation of complex federal, state, and multi-state individual tax returns for corporate business owners and high net worth individuals
- Ability to identify and post year-end journal entries to client’s books, as necessary
- Communicate efficiently and effectively with supervisors, managers, and partners to ensure timely delivery of products and client issues that arise
- Research tax developments and ensure compliance with regulations
- Work alongside the supervisor, manager, or partner to prepare year-end tax projections
- Continue to foster client relationships and serve as trusted advisor to client’s business office staff by delivering superior services and timely responses
Requirements
- 3+ years with a medium-sized public accounting firm preparing corporate, flow-through, and individual income tax returns
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Proficient in project management including scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence, and research
- Strong attention to detail
- Integrity within a professional environment
Preferences
- Experience with CCH Axcess tax and Knowledge Coach
- EA or CPA certification or actively pursuing
