About the Team:
Tubi’s Content Platforms Engineering team is on a mission to innovate and optimize the infrastructure powering our content ecosystem. We’re responsible for the full lifecycle of content ingestion and delivery—from acquiring assets from partners to delivering rich media experiences to millions of users.

About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep experience in backend development, content platforms, and system design. In this role, you will work closely with Engineering, Production, Design, Data Science & Analytics, Content, and Legal teams to build next-generation content onboarding systems. You’ll help create workflows that enable efficient media processing, AI-assisted content enhancement, and seamless integration across teams.
What You'll Do:
- Design and build a highly efficient Content Management System to onboard content from diverse external partners.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product, Design, Data Science) to ensure system functionality, interoperability, scalability, and resilience.
- Partner with Content Operations to translate business needs into practical technical solutions.
- Maintain high standards for software architecture, code quality, and team collaboration.
- Contribute to system evolution, from ingestion pipelines to delivery workflows, using modern technologies and patterns.
- Advocate for automation, performance, and scalability across the content platform stack.
Your Background:
- 5+ years of experience with programming languages and software systems (e.g., Elixir, Erlang, Golang, Ruby, Scala, Python).
- Experience with background job processing frameworks (e.g., Sidekiq, Celery, Oban).
- Strong understanding of software systems and databases.
- Strong understanding of system design.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, with 5+ years of industry experience (exceptions made for exceptional candidates).
Bonus:
- Experience with metadata normalization and transformation in large-scale media ingestion pipelines.
- Hands-on expertise with workflow orchestration engines (e.g., Temporal, Apache Airflow, Cadence).
- Familiarity with gRPC/Protocol Buffers and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging systems.
- A passion for improving operational efficiency and system robustness through automation and tooling.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is is listed annually below. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, long-term incentive plan, and various benefits including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.

$186,400 - $266,300 USD
