About the Role:
We are seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join our team in Beijing, China, providing hands-on support for local end users. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing user accounts, supporting video conferencing systems, and maintaining a MacOS first environment. This role requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to resolve technical issues promptly and effectively.
In addition to end-user support, the engineer will play a key role in maintaining and troubleshooting the office’s IT infrastructure, with a strong focus on network support. The ideal candidate is technically adept, hands-on, self-motivated, and passionate about technology. They should be collaborative, communicative, and capable of working independently. The role demands a high level of professionalism and discretion, along with strong troubleshooting skills across networking, hardware, and software.
What You'll Do:
- Install, configure, upgrade, maintain, and manage computer hardware and related office equipment (computers, Zoom video conferencing devices, printers, etc.).
- Familiar with macOS system maintenance, including system installation, installation and configuration of office and professional software, and handling common software issues.
- Conduct routine inspections of the office environment (server rooms, meeting rooms, etc.).
- Promptly respond to user requests, track, and resolve IT issues through a ticketing system.
- Provide daily technical support for local end-users, including desktop hardware, software, printing, and mobile devices.
- Provide basic support and maintenance for audio and video equipment in meeting rooms (e.g., projectors, video conferencing systems), and ensure support for major meetings.
- Manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes (standardizing computers, checking accounts, group management, computer recovery and formatting, etc.) and IT training.
- Independently create user-facing IT documentation.
- Provide basic English communication support (mainly reading and writing skills).
Your Background:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–3 years’ experience in IT support or systems/network administration; experience in a multinational environment is a plus.
- Proven desktop/end-user support experience, delivering timely and satisfactory IT service to users and business teams.
Working knowledge of macOS and Windows with basic troubleshooting skills. - Foundational networking knowledge: IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and Wi-Fi configuration.
- Strong service mindset and communication skills; patient and user-oriented problem solving.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, Okta (SSO), and Zoom conferencing equipment (preferred).
- Ability to create, organize, and maintain clear IT documentation.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities; solid project management and team collaboration skills.
- Good English communication skills (spoken and written) to enable bilingual collaboration.
