San Francisco, CA (Hybrid)

About Tubi:

Boldly built for every fandom, Tubi is a free streaming service that entertains over 100 million monthly active users. Tubi offers the world's largest collection of Hollywood movies and TV shows, thousands of creator-led stories and hundreds of Tubi Originals made for the most passionate fans. Headquartered in San Francisco and founded in 2014, Tubi is part of Tubi Media Group, a division of Fox Corporation.

About the Role:

The team is responsible for building and optimizing the UI/UX across all Web and OTT applications at Tubi. The team primarily focuses on implementing features related to user acquisition and growth, including but not limited to user registration, onboarding, SEO, and account management.

As part of this team, you will work closely with Product and Design to develop cutting-edge, experiment-driven features that enhance the user experience. In addition to front-end development, you’ll be responsible for building the underlying technical architecture to ensure performance and scalability, while proactively exploring engineering-driven features and experiments that can drive user growth.

You will be working with React, Node.js, GitHub Actions, Terraform, and CDN infrastructure to build and deploy high-performance applications that reach millions of users.

This is a hybrid role based out of our San Francisco office. You must be willing to travel to our San Francisco office three days/week.

What You'll Do:

  • Work with product management and other stakeholders (Backend, Product, and UI/UX) to iterate on new growth-related features, including registration, onboarding, and SEO.
  • Lead the technical architecture and implementation of scalable and resilient applications that run on multiple platforms, such as web, mobile web, and smart TV devices.
  • Lead and drive innovation in building experiment-driven features that push the boundaries of user experience in streaming.
  • Consistently ship features and improvements across Web and OTT apps with minimal guidance, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact updates.
  • Identify and implement improvements in shared UI components, platform-specific optimizations, and overall front-end infrastructure.
  • Take ownership of the codebase and proactively identify opportunities for refactoring and development process improvement.
  • Mentor and collaborate with fellow engineers, sharing technical expertise and contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest web development trends and technologies, and evaluate their potential impact on the product and the team's skills.

Your Background:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience developing high performing and scalable web applications using React JS, Redux, JavaScript, Web APIs, HTML5/CSS, and Typescript
  • Experience leading engineering initiatives and effectively communicating with cross functional stakeholders
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and internships

The AI Mandate: AI-Driven Development Practice

This role goes beyond traditional front-end engineering: you will extensively use AI to design, build, and optimize user-facing experiences. The goal is to unlock smarter design workflows, faster UI delivery, and automation at scale — all while ensuring accessibility, performance, and responsible AI use in production. This includes but is not limited to:

  • AI-Augmented Front-End Development: Using AI-assisted coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) to accelerate development while maintaining rigorous standards for usability, performance, and maintainability. You will set the bar for how front-end engineers harness AI to prototype faster, ship pixel-perfect interfaces, and document components effectively across Tubi’s design system.
  • AI-Enhanced UI Architecture & Performance Optimization: Exploring how AI can assist in modern front-end architecture — from React component design and state management to rendering performance, accessibility, and responsiveness. You will prototype and integrate AI-powered optimizations that improve Core Web Vitals, reduce bundle size, and enhance runtime efficiency across large-scale, user-facing applications.
  • AI-Driven Developer Experience: Contributing to internal front-end tooling and platforms that use AI to enhance developer productivity. This includes automated visual regression testing, design-to-code translation, intelligent component documentation, and real-time performance insights. You will help evolve Tubi’s front-end engineering culture into an AI-native practice.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
