The Role

We’re looking for a seasoned Solutions Architect to lead our ambitious initiatives at the forefront of automotive innovation here at TuneIn. As our automotive partnerships take center stage in driving strategic growth, this hire will be pivotal in orchestrating the technical aspects of integrating our renowned audio streaming platform within automotive environments. With a legacy of successful collaborations, extensive distribution reach, and a vast catalog of live audio content, TuneIn stands poised to revolutionize in-car entertainment. 

In this role, you will manage TuneIn’s growth through external distribution partnerships, focusing on the automotive category. You will develop a deep understanding of TuneIn integration toolsets, systems and architecture, partner technical requirements, priorities, and roadmaps to launch TuneIn on new platforms. You will delight our customers by improving the ease, speed, quality, and robustness with which new audio experiences are delivered. In addition, you will influence TuneIn’s product strategy, as well as coordinate the execution of TuneIn’s core strategic distribution roadmap.  

Scope of Work

  • Manage and develop the technical and product relationships with key automotive and connected device partners, successfully deploying new integrations using TuneIn’s technology.
  • Serve as a key liaison concerning technical ownership and support for new and existing partners, maintaining regular communication and managing expectations with both external and internal teams.
  • Guide new partners through end-to-end integration and certification of TuneIn into their ecosystems.
  • Play the role of triage engineer who proactively identifies and drives large, complex technical issues and incidents to resolution, troubleshooting using your knowledge of TuneIn systems, APIs, and clients.
  • Create and maintain partner-facing onboarding documentation, toolkits, and best practices that improve time to market, partner success, and operational robustness.
  • Methodical ownership of internal documentation and processes for partner operations.
  • Maintain clear and consistent org-wide communications to drive broad visibility into the health and status of our distribution partnerships.
  • Partner with the Business Development, Product Management, Content, and Marketing teams on prioritization and strategic alignment of new partnerships, ensuring we have the right fit for both companies in each integration.
  • Partner with Product Management and Engineering to guide product roadmaps, advocating for partner, developer, business, and listener needs and highlighting issues, trends, and opportunities for enhancements.
  • Understand the evolving market of automotive media and services to identify benchmarks, unmet integration needs, and potential partners
  • Look around corners to reduce risk and spot openings for platform innovation and distribution process improvements.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 8+ years in a technical role, with 5+ years in solutions architecture, ideally in media technology and automotive sectors.
  • Proven experience designing and launching software integrations, especially between Android apps and automotive platforms.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, SDKs, and integration tools used in mobile and automotive development.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues across systems, including tools like Charles Proxy and Postman.
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis, simulate API calls, and resolve integration issues efficiently.
  • Proficiency in software engineering fundamentals and translating business needs into actionable technical specs.
  • Proven success in building technical partner relationships for high-impact integrations.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with a knack for articulating complex problems clearly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of automotive entertainment systems and technologies.
  • Familiarity with audio streaming technologies, protocols, and industry standards.
  • Awareness of relevant regulations and standards in the automotive industry.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and fast-paced software environments.
  • Proficiency in SQL and strong analytical skills for diagnosing technical issues.

TuneIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. To determine your compensation, we take a market-based approach, meaning pay may vary depending on your location, and we also carefully consider several factors, such as job-related knowledge, skills, and professional experience.

The expected starting salary for this position ranges from $160,500 in our lowest geographic market up to $249,500 in our highest geographic market and may be modified in the future. 

The compensation package also includes a wide range of medical plans, a flexible PTO policy, parental leave, various stipends, and other benefits listed above, as well as an attractive equity package.
