Financial Analyst

Denver, CO

At TurboTenant, we’re transforming the rental experience for landlords and tenants across the country. We believe in making smart, data-informed decisions, and we know that great financial reporting, strong analysis, and thoughtful planning are critical to our success. If you’re a curious, analytical thinker who thrives in fast-paced, tech-forward environments, this might be the perfect role for you.

Our organization values financial insight and strategic planning, with strong support from leadership for initiatives that improve financial performance and operational efficiency. You won’t need to struggle to get buy-in for key financial projects or justify the need for in-depth analysis.

Who we are looking for:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our intertwined Finance, Data, and Accounting team. This is a high-impact role that blends strategic insight with hands-on reporting and modeling, giving you direct influence over the financial future of a growing SaaS company that serves hundreds of thousands of landlords and tenants nationwide. You’ll be supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term strategy.

Monthly and Quarterly Reporting

You'll play a central role in producing our monthly and quarterly financial reporting, helping to ensure that every number, chart, and insight tells a clear and accurate story of our performance. From compiling our finance reporting package to preparing variance analysis and marketing performance metrics, your work will be essential to how executive leadership and our investors understand and improve our business.

Financial Modeling

In this role, you’ll also be a key contributor to maintaining and improving our financial model. Each month, you’ll update it with the latest actuals and performance data, making sure everything ties out cleanly and communicates across the tabs without error. You’ll help model out new products, expenses, and potential business lines—translating real-world changes into strategic forecasting tools that drive leadership decisions. As our business grows and evolves, you’ll proactively identify areas where reports need updating or new analyses are needed. Whether it’s digging into the implications of a product change or evaluating an M&A target, you’ll bring both precision and creativity to your work.

Accounting Support

Your impact won’t be limited to reporting and modeling. You’ll also support the accounting function during month-end close, contributing to the production of financial statements and ensuring that transactions are accurately coded and categorized. You’ll assist with accounting schedules related to prepaids, fixed assets, and revenue, while also helping maintain clean and compliant vendor and customer records. From assisting with contractor payments to collaborating with auditors and external tax professionals, you’ll have a hand in keeping our financial operations sharp, efficient, and audit-ready.

Data Analysis

You’ll also have the opportunity to work closely with our data team and expand your capabilities in data analysis. As we continue to integrate financial insights into company-wide decision-making, this role offers exposure to business intelligence tools, dashboards, and SQL-based analysis. For someone with a desire to grow in both finance and data, this is a chance to deepen your technical skills, contribute to cross-functional projects, and become a bridge between financial reporting and operational analytics. Even if you aren’t a SQL expert on day 1.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in your work.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow.
  • Well-rounded interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Ability to turn financial results into a story.
  • Knowledge of GAAP principles and their application across the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting functions such as journal entries, reconciliations, and ledger management.
  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills (Index Match, Pivot Tables, SumIf, Vlookup, If, Producing Graphs).
  • Quantitative analysis and financial modeling skills.
  • Familiarity with or a desire to learn about the startup innovation ecosystem.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to address both financial and non-financial issues across the business.
  • Data analysis skills and the desire to learn SQL.
  • Curiosity and a positive attitude.
  • A degree in accounting, finance, economics, or data science.
  • At least two years of relevant work experience. Relevant work experience can include audit, corporate accounting, corporate finance, investment/corporate/commercial banking, or other finance/accounting/data analytics roles.
