Role Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Administrator to help with our growing global payroll processes. This role will own the Brazil payroll process but will be hands-on in many other aspects of our payroll operations through data collection, process streamlining, and entity creation. This is a great growth role for anyone wanting to expand their payroll career in a global setting.

Our ideal candidate is a hands-on self-starter who is analytical and methodical, with 4+ years of experience in payroll operations. We also value integrity, team spirit, and strong organizational skills.

This role is fully remote and based in Brazil, however, this role will be dealing with payroll across geographies as we grow.

Responsibilities

  • Process Brazil payroll for employees in the Deel platform. This will include the monthly regular cycle and all off-cycle payrolls as needed for new hires/terminations.
  • Manage workflow to ensure incoming and outgoing payroll data is processed timely and accurately. Serve as the main point of contact for the Deel payroll team.
  • Remittance of Brazilian employee payroll deposits and monthly FGTS/INSS payroll tax payments. 
  • Ability to understand union agreement(s) and serve as a point of contact for employee and/or vendor questions in relation. 
  • Knowledge of Brazil payroll tax compliance to ensure the accuracy of system settings and processed transactions. 
  • Help to ensure payroll-related tax account registrations are completed as needed.
  • Work closely with our internal accounting department to provide support on payroll-related questions or documentation as needed.
  • Own data collection, entries, and accuracy across multiple systems that impact global payroll operations. 
  • Assist employees with inquiries related to payroll matters.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end payroll processes and related tax reconciliations.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with business partners (People/Benefits/Finance) for process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Create and/or maintain payroll documentation as it relates to processing, operational procedures, compliance, and other payroll-related matters.
  • Assist in ad-hoc duties when required (ie. audits, payroll backup for other entities, external payment operations, etc.)

Skills/Qualifications Required

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of payroll processing.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Exposure to a SOX-regulated environment is preferred but not required.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and proven to have excellent time management skills to deliver results in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines across multiple tasks.
  • Recent processing experience with Deel or other third-party payroll providers. Exposure to ADP Workforce Now, HiBob, Slack, Jira, and Jibble preferred. 
  • Knowledge of Sao Paulo Union agreements and Brazilian labor laws; must be able to read agreements and relay relevant information to team(s) as needed. 
  • Strong communication skills, written/verbal, and the ability to interact with employees at all levels. Must be proficient in written and verbal English. Bilingual Portuguese preferred.
  • Strong MS Excel skills required (VLOOKUP’s, Pivot Tables, etc.)
