Role Description
The Senior Product Manager will develop and execute the strategic business plan and initiatives for current and future products used to promote safe patient recovery in the ICU and other settings. Develops and implements tactical plans for the purpose of meeting product, financial and corporate growth objectives. The Senior Product Manager oversees all phases of the product development process from ideation to product launch. He/she works cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing & Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Clinical to support the launch of future technologies.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Obtain and analyze feedback-voice of the customer-from key opinion leaders (KOLs), current and future customers, third party market research, and internal customers/partners to guide product development strategy and initiatives
- Facilitate the design, collection and analysis of market research to identify customer needs and market requirements
- Define product concepts and support creation of requirements
- Champion new product development efforts across multiple internal and external groups and ensure all needs are addressed (e.g., design elements, product claims, field education, operations planning, etc.)
- Author User Needs, Stakeholder requirements, and Product Marketing Requirements documents to initiate and guide product development projects
- Serve as product management representative on product core teams and drive voice of the customer throughout the product development process; develop recommendations for technical product direction
- Support the identification, prioritization and development of new product opportunities and quantify the business impact, in order to facilitate the organization’s product pipeline
- Create business cases and market opportunity analyses to support new product proposals
- Function as product expert internally and externally as the product(s) move through their lifecycle
- Manage cross functional project teams, identify resources required, and develop detailed project plans to ensure delivery of key milestones and on time completion and launch of product development initiatives
- Collaborate with marketing to develop and execute successful new product launches
- Develop product pricing and positioning strategies that support execution of product launches which include: training, initial market segmentation, positioning and messaging content
- Travel in field regularly to assess customer and field opinions on current products and market environment
Qualifications
Required Education/ Experience:
- BA/BS required
- Minimum of 7 years of successful product management or related experience
Preferred Education/Experience:
- Masters’ degree a plus
- 10+ years’ product management experience
- Experience in medical device industry
- Knowledge of critical care device industry
Skills & Competencies
- Experience defining data and connectivity solutions
- Experience with products interfacing to Electronic Health Record systems such as EPIC
- Well versed in the dynamics of medical device markets
- Ability to lead and collaborate across business units, functions
- Strong learning agility, flexible and adaptable
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team; ability to be self-motivated
- Knows how a product is adopted in a health care environment
- Creates solid relationships across an organization and broadens those relationships over time
- Ability to influence, facilitate and collaborate with various constituencies within the company
- PC application skills: MS Office, Excel, Word, Power Point
Salary Range:
- $140,000 – $150,000 annually
Travel Requirements:
- Travel required (20-40%)
