Claims Fraud Investigator

About the team: 

The Claims Fraud Investigator will lead complex investigations, conduct interviews with hosts, guests and other parties connected to investigations. They will be responsible for making recommendations on the claim outcome.

What you will do: 

  • Independently investigate claims with Red Flags, including conduct interviews, review and analyze documents and other data, prepare notes and reports, conduct field work (when needed) and inspections and determine information that may be needed to fully investigate and resolve claims with red flags. 
  • Use investigative tools such as Sift, Scope Now and others, to find connections between parties, identify fraud rings or other connections to potential fraud perpetrators. Evaluate and make recommendations on the claim outcome, whether to ban users or to engage law enforcement.
  • Work with peers and managers to set counter fraud guidelines and handle expectations, including development of reporting data. 
  • Work with the general claims team to educate them on red flags, how to identify questionable claims, and how to refer claims to the counter fraud team. 
  • Represent Turo with law enforcement, carriers or other counter fraud organizations to stay up to date on trends, learn new techniques to counter fraud activity. 

Your profile: 

  • 3+ years experience in SIU or Fraud investigations
  • Experience with support solutions and processes in an auto claims environment
  • Working knowledge of auto claims, estimating, and how estimating fraud can be perpetuated
  • Strong investigative skills- including the ability to determine the needed questions and data to be gathered to determine if fraud is present. 
  • Strong knowledge of SIU/Fraud claims, with ability to design and implement counter fraud tools, rules, and investigation processes
  • Experience in conducting investigations, including independently determining needed investigation steps
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Apple, Claims Systems or related software.

Bonus if you have: 

  • Four-year college degree. 

The PHX base salary target range for this full-time position is $70,000-$85,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in this location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
