Sr Director/VP Global Marketing

Twist Bioscience is seeking a visionary and highly accomplished leader to lead our global marketing organization, define our brand narrative, and drive sustainable, significant growth across all business units. The Senior Director/ VP, Global Marketing will report to the SVP of Product and Marketing and hold accountability for setting the global marketing vision, strategy, and execution across markets and regions. This leader will be responsible for translating business objectives into high-impact marketing strategies, overseeing brand, product positioning, integrated global campaigns, growth marketing, digital channels, and executive-level customer engagement. 

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead Twist’s global marketing organization include global marketing programs, regional marketing, events, digital marketing, customer advocacy, creative and design, and marketing operations. 
  • Define and own the overarching global marketing strategy, aligning it with Twist Bioscience’s corporate goals, product roadmap, and long-term market opportunities.
  • Serve as the executive leader for the global marketing function, developing and mentoring a world-class team of marketing professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and data-driven excellence.
  • Drive market and customer requirements into a cohesive program strategy across the organization, interacting with executive leaders, diverse technical teams, and non-technical groups globally to solidify our strategic direction.
  • Oversee the development of high-quality, thought-leadership content (including publications, blogs, white papers, case studies, etc.) that establishes Twist as a leading authority across NGS applications, DNA Synthesis and Protein Solutions. 
  • Determine the cohesive, high-level global event strategy plan, ensuring alignment with regional sales objectives across AMER, EMEA, and APAC.
  • Own and manage the multi-million dollar global marketing budget, ensuring strategic resource allocation and maximizing return on investment (ROI) across all channels.
  • Direct the creation and evaluation of all global, integrated marketing programs and campaigns to drive measurable customer acquisition and revenue growth across sales channels including eCommerce. 
  • Collaborate closely with Sales and other executive teams to architect integrated GTM (Go-to-Market) strategies and optimize the lead generation and conversion engine globally.
  • Establish and report out executive-level Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to the senior leadership team and Board of Directors, demonstrating marketing’s impact on company growth.
  • Define the global product messaging architecture for all internal and external audiences, including high-stakes event tactics, webinars, sales enablement, and training materials.
  • Strategically manage relationships with key external agencies, partners, and top-tier Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to create meaningful, globally impactful campaigns.

 

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Master’s Degree or MBA is required; an advanced degree (Ph.D.) in a life sciences field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 15+ years of progressive marketing leadership and/or related experience, 
  • Demonstrated track record of managing a broad range of global marketing channels with proven success in driving leads, customers and revenue growth, particularly through advanced e-commerce strategies.
  • Deep domain expertise and the ability to fluently grasp complex scientific and technology topics within the life sciences industry, with strong familiarity in synthetic biology, genomics, and next-generation sequencing space.
  • Exceptional executive presence, business acumen, and the ability to influence C-level stakeholders and use data to drive major organizational and strategic decisions.
  • Highly collaborative leadership style, capable of building executive alignment across diverse global project teams and inspiring the organization to deliver and exceed ambitious goals.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proven ability to step back, analyze the overall business landscape, and articulate a clear path forward.
  • Superior verbal communication, written communication, and presentation skills, with experience supporting and presenting to business unit executives and the Board of Directors.
  • Willingness and ability to travel globally up to 30% of the time to support international business objectives and regional teams.

 

The base cash compensation for this California-based role is below. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for bonus, equity, and a generous benefits package. Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate skill, experience, expertise, and location and may vary from the amount listed above. Compensation may be different in other locations.

$255,000 - $350,000 USD
