Warehouse Supervisor
The Warehouse Supervisor will manage and drive continuous improvement in warehousing operations. This position must actively partner with Manufacturing and Customer Support to optimize product availability and service level from the warehouse team. New solutions are needed for optimizing existing constrained space and any additional space needed to satisfy long-term scale-up plans. Additional responsibilities include supporting material related activities as designated by the Director of Supply Chain.
Responsibilities
- Develop staff to continuously improve skills and experience.
- Oversee development of best practices in cycle counting and physical inventories.
- Develop short-term and long-term plans to assure adequate space to meet capacity plans.
- Manage transition to automated transactions (e.g. bar-coding solutions). Develop the proposed solution, present ROI, and follow through to implementation.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing to develop solutions to inventory accuracy challenges.
- Maintain and improve all Warehouse policies and procedures.
- Develop control systems to assure inventory accuracy and availability.
- Maintain cross-training program to assure highly-qualified backups for every function.
- Maintain training records and compliance with re-training schedule.
- Improve operational efficiency to enable cost-effective scale-up.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of experience in managing warehouse operations and direct reports in a high-tech manufacturing environment, preferably in life sciences, biotech or pharma.
- Experience driving improvements in inventory accuracy.
- Implementation of Process Excellence, LEAN and 5S principles highly desirable.
- Ability to develop strategies and solutions to meet long-term needs and effectively present to all levels of management.
- Deep knowledge of ERP warehouse management functionality.
- Ability to extract maximum value from freight carrier partners (FedEx, UPS)
- Ability to quickly analyze problems, investigate and determine solutions.
- Able to define goals and plans, then manage a project to successful completion.
- Able to manage a wide variety of tasks, maintain and communicate task status to stakeholders. Proactive follow-up to ensure on-time completion of deliverables.
- Able to present detailed analyses and proposals to all levels of management. Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
