Overview of opportunity:
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer/Scientist to join our team and play a crucial role in analyzing and interpreting complex datasets to inform Government decision-makers, drive successful operations, and shape IC technology and resource investments to meet our client’s critical and complex mission needs.
What you will do:
You will leverage a variety of big datasets, software packages, cloud services, and automation technologies to derive knowledge, find patterns, and reveal relationships in large volumes of data. You will work alongside a multi-disciplinary Agile development team well-versed in modern software development, utilizing cloud-based technologies, implementing automation techniques, and streamlining deployments via DevSecOps to support our growing user-base in operations. Your insight will be vital to navigate our client’s evolving and expanding requirements as the Intelligence Community propels into the next age of innovation.
You will also:
- Evaluate APIs, data schemas, data dictionaries, and data formats
- Serve as a broker between DAGAR and data providers and consumers
- Spearhead the collection, normalization, and analysis of large datasets from various sources.
- Use data to identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend solutions.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to monitor key performance metrics.
- Perform statistical analyses to identify trends, patterns, and insights.from large data holdings
- Automate solutions using cloud services, AI/ML, and other related tools
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and provide actionable insights.
- Recommend and/or implement techniques to ensure data quality and integrity
What you will need (basic qualifications):
- 5+ years experience working with open data encoding standards (JSON, XML), and related schemas/dictionaries/tooling
- 5+ years experience working with data-driven APIs
- Experience with data visualization
- Experience in the SIGINT domain
- Experience with Linux operating systems and utilities
- Experience with scoping and planning data engineering projects
- Proven ability to work as a self-started with minimal daily oversight
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline from an accredited college or university
Nice to haves (preferred):
- Proficiency in a modern software development language (Intermediate-level or higher)
- Experience with Natural Language Processing and Geocoding
- Experience with Docker containers
- Experience with AWS cloud services
- Experience with common Machine Learning libraries (PyTorch, scikit-learn, etc.)
Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required
