We're looking for an accomplished and dynamic Director of Marketing to upgrade our marketing efforts within the defense and national security sectors. This is a pivotal role where you'll act as both a hands-on contributor and a team leader, shaping brand identity, supporting strategic positioning, leading marketing events and activities, driving product and solution marketing, and empowering our sales and business development efforts. You'll focus on delivering high-impact marketing to key audiences including customers, program teammates, strategic partners, acquisition prospects, Government stakeholders, and prospective hires, ensuring Two Six’s vision, strategic differentiation, and unique, mission-aligned solutions are clearly articulated.

This is a hybrid position working from our new Herndon, VA office.

What you will do:

  • Strategic Marketing Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies that align with company goals, focusing on corporate branding and positioning; product/solution marketing; and company communications. Ensure our marketing, messaging, and branding are consistent across teams and initiatives, and collectively aligned for maximum positive impact.
  • Corporate Branding & Communications: Oversee the development and maintenance of our corporate brand identity, ensuring consistent messaging across all internal and external communication channels. Manage public relations, media outreach, industry events and awards, and corporate communication efforts.
  • Website & Social Media: Manage the Two Six corporate website to ensure best-in-class visual branding, functionality and content. Ensure regular updates and highlights that align with our business priorities and successes.
  • Product & Solution Marketing: Work closely with Two Six’s business units and product and program teams to develop and execute compelling marketing strategies and collateral for our innovative, mission-focused defense and national security solutions.
  • Sales & BD Enablement: Partner with Two Six’s sales and business development teams to create effective tools, content, and campaigns that support brand awareness, lead generation, pipeline acceleration, and deal closure. This includes developing collateral, thought leadership, and competitive intelligence.
  • Executive & Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate directly with executive leadership to align marketing strategies with corporate development initiatives, operational efficiencies, and overall business objectives.
  • Vendor and Extended Team Management: Externally, build strong relationships and manage 3rd party vendors and partners who are part of comprehensive marketing activities. Internally, work with various marketing and communication functions to align priorities, leverage collective efforts, and ensure consistency and quality.
  • Internal Communication Alignment: Work in conjunction with our people management team to ensure external marketing efforts are aligned with both our talent acquisition goals and internal communications and reinforce our core values.

What you will need:

 

 

  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in marketing leadership roles, with a proven track record in the defense, government contracting, or highly technical B2B sectors. Experience managing and developing high-functioning, responsive marketing teams is essential.
  • Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies that drive measurable results.
  • Brand Development: Track record of developing impactful brand graphic identity and voice that consistently reinforce our core values and competitive advantages.
  • Technical Acumen: Strong capability to understand and articulate complex technical products and solutions, specifically those aligned with mission requirements in defense and national security.
  • Leadership & Management: Proven ability to build, develop, lead and motivate a high-performing marketing team with additional matrixed resources.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives.
  • Government Audiences: Strong understanding of how to market effectively to government customers, especially Defense and Intelligence Community agencies, and strategic partners in this unique market.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.

The projected salary range listed for this position is annualized. This is a general guideline and not a guarantee of salary. Salary is one component of our total compensation package and the specific salary offered is determined by various factors, including, but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, geographic location, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements.

Salary Range

$169,000 - $212,000 USD
