Overview of Opportunity
The Strategic Communications Deputy supports the customer by aligning campaign efforts with policy directives, partner input, and evolving strategic priorities. This role acts as a key liaison between internal and external stakeholders, ensuring consistent, impactful messaging and effective coordination across U.S. Government (USG) entities.
What you will do:
Campaign Prioritization & Strategic Alignment
- Coordinate campaign efforts to reflect current policy directives, stakeholder input, and emerging national security considerations.
- Provide contextual insight to enhance situational awareness offering analysis of partner motivations and priorities beyond what operational updates provide.
Press & Media Relations
- Draft compelling press releases, official statements, Q&As, and talking points tailored to sensitive national security topics.
- Manage the media clearance process, ensuring all materials meet interagency standards and receive appropriate approvals.
Stakeholder Liaison & Relationship Management
- Serve as a primary communications conduit facilitating information flow and collaboration.
- Coordinate announcements with USG entities and strengthen working relationships across USG stakeholders.
- Handle ad hoc external requests (e.g., graphics, outreach materials) efficiently and diplomatically
What you will need:
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in strategic communications
- Strong writing, editing, and briefing skills; experience with interagency coordination preferred.
- Familiarity with national security, counterterrorism, or diplomatic messaging contexts is a plus.

The projected salary range listed for this position is annualized. This is a general guideline and not a guarantee of salary. Salary is one component of our total compensation package and the specific salary offered is determined by various factors, including, but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, geographic location, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements.
Salary Range
$67,400 - $126,500 USD
