Overview of Opportunity
Two Six Technologies is seeking a Part-Time Operational Systems Administrator Co-op to support the design, deployment, and maintenance of complex systems powering advanced cybersecurity research and development efforts. As a co-op team member, you’ll gain hands-on experience managing custom systems, networks, and systems-under-test alongside engineers developing next-generation solutions for national security and critical mission needs.
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a technically driven student or early-career professional to grow their expertise across system administration, cybersecurity, and computer network operations (CNO) while working in a dynamic R&D environment.
What You Will Do:
- Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure complex systems are configured, maintained, and ready for operational use.
Support rapid development and integration cycles across multiple projects. - Assist with automation of processes, testing, and system monitoring.
- Learn and apply core cybersecurity principles in real-world lab environments.
- Contribute to cross-team collaboration, troubleshooting, and IT support efforts.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and customers to resolve technical issues.
What You Will Need (Basic Qualifications):
- At least 1 year of experience configuring, designing, administering, or maintaining Linux servers or workstations (through coursework, projects, or internships).
- Working knowledge of the Linux command line.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
Basic understanding of infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Docker).
Ability to work onsite at our Arlington, VA headquarters on a part-time basis (approximately 15–25 hours per week).
Nice to Haves (Preferred):
- Experience working in or supporting classified lab networks (SCIF or SAPF environments).
- Knowledge of mid-level network devices, including managed switches and routers.
- Familiarity with LDAP/Kerberos authentication protocols.
- Experience with virtualization or containerization technologies.
Security Clearance:
- Must be eligible and willing to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
