Senior Director, Business Operations

We seek a Capability Expansion & Growth-minded Senior Director, Business Operations to steward, deepen, and scale the strategic, technical, and financial footprint of the Two Six Secure Platforms team. The Lead will drive organic growth within established customer spaces across the DoW and IC (through both prime and strategic partner positions), nurture relationships with Cloud Service Providers (CSPs), and lead end-to-end proposal and capability extension processes.

To ensure deep client intimacy and maintain active clearance, the Lead will dedicate a portion of their time to the operational oversight of a core technical program, serving as a trusted COTR liaison and ensuring mission success.

This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Trusted Electronics and Effects and will require you to be onsite daily.

What You Will Do

Capability Cultivation & Organic Growth (50% Focus)

  • Capability Expansion: Proactively identify, qualify, and expand opportunities within existing Department of Warfare (DoW) and Intelligence Community (IC) programs and client environments.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Nurture and deepen relationships with Cloud Service Providers (CSPs), marketplace providers, prime contractors, and key client stakeholders to maximize capability retention and joint expansion.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy Execution: Drive sector go-to-market strategies, ensuring capability expansion activities align with annual business plans and financial performance targets.
  • Strategic Partner Positioning: Position team capabilities to expand scope through both prime contract modifications/re-competes and strategic subcontractor arrangements.
  • Proposal & Capture Leadership: Lead full-lifecycle proposal responses (RFIs, RFPs, Task Orders, and Market Surveys) and deliver capture milestone reviews to corporate leadership to secure capability extensions.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain a qualified growth pipeline capable of driving ~20% year-over-year organic revenue expansion.

Technical Solutioning & Architecture (30% Focus)

  • Cloud Service Provider and Partner Solution Integration: Partner with TST engineering teams to design and scale Federal CSP solutions including AWS, Oracle, Microsoft, and Google as well as other partners within active client environments.
  • Ecosystem Engagement: Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with CSP marketplace providers to integrate cutting-edge capabilities into existing offerings.
  • Solution Packaging: Work with TST engineers to codify technical innovations across Secure Platforms teams, translating complex engineering into compelling value narratives for customer stakeholders.
  • Methodology Alignment: Package TST technical innovations into proposal responses and collaborate with technical experts to ensure grounded, trusted solutions for major competitive and organic expansion bids.

Program Stewardship & Operational Execution (20% Focus)

  • Direct Program Oversight: Manage programmatics, schedules, execution, and delivery teams on core technical contracts.
  • Delivery Excellence: Drive flawless contract execution and maintain exceptionally high Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) scores.
  • Government sponsor Liaison: Act as the primary, trusted operational point of contact for COTRs and government stakeholders, fostering transparent communication and strong capability health.
  • Process Governance: Establish repeatable operational processes and controls that build/maintain program governance and high-quality execution.

Financial & Business Governance

  • Salesforce Discipline: Maintain and effectively track capability expansion opportunities and pipeline health within Salesforce.
  • Financial Stewardship: Manage indirect and program budgets with strict discipline around Estimate at Completion (EAC) and Estimate to Complete (ETC) tracking.

Leadership & Thought Leadership

  • Trusted Advisor: Provide technical and domain thought leadership to existing customers and stakeholders across the DoW/IC community.
  • Talent Development: Mentor and build an operational leadership framework to scale departmental capacity and support expansion demands. (This role will not have direct reports initially).

What You Will Need

  • 12+ years of experience (with at least 8+ years focused on DoD/Intelligence Community customers), demonstrating steady career growth and impactful leadership within a complex, product- and software-focused business ecosystem.
  • 5+ years of proven success growing and expanding capabilities within Department of Warfare (DoW) and Intelligence Community (IC) environments.
  • Demonstrated success building and sustaining strategic relationships with Cloud Service Providers (CSPs), marketplace providers, prime contractors, and senior client staff.
  • Demonstrated direct operational oversight of programs representing at least $50M in annual revenue.
  • Proven track record of operational process improvement, financial acumen, and driving capability growth/extensions within DoW and IC programs.

Personal Skills

  • A stewardship and growth-focused mindset: A strategic leader who can translate high-level capability strategy into an actionable operational roadmap and rally delivery teams around customer success.
  • Client-facing communication: Outstanding interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to build long-term trust with client stakeholders and engineering teams.
  • Onsite Presence: 4 days a week in person in either Herndon or Arlington, with the ability to travel between Two Six offices and customer sites.

Security Clearance

  • Active Top Secret / SCI with Polygraph required.

The projected salary range listed for this position is annualized. This is a general guideline and not a guarantee of salary. Salary is one component of our total compensation package and the specific salary offered is determined by various factors, including, but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, geographic location, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements.

$250,000 - $290,000 USD
