Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our high-growth and fast-paced DSO. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting for all locations. Responsibilities include completing activities related to general ledger; accounting reconciliations and analysis within Company set deadlines; understanding and following accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial information. As the business grows, additional responsibilities will be added.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for monthly close procedures including the preparation of recurring month-end journal entries and adjustments in accordance with GAAP
  • Prepare journal entries, as well as monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and financial analysis
  • Compile month end reporting deliverables and key month end reporting metrics as well as quarterly and yearly footnote support
  • Assist with reconciling and analyzing various balance sheet accounts including identification and explanation of variances
  • Handle special projects and provide back-up support as needed for finance/accounting team
  • Interact with other departments and external auditors; provide clarification and accounting support
  • Drive process improvement and identify opportunities for efficiencies
  • Preparation of ad hoc reports and analyses, as required
  • Assist Director of Accounting and / or CFO with special projects as needed

Requirements:

  • Accounting Degree or related field of study preferred /equivalent professional experience
  • 3-5+ years accounting experience in a multi- location environment
  • Demonstrate sense of urgency and works well under pressure
  • Experience in problem solving and data validation
  • Sharp attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, adapt to and operate in a fast-paced, changing environment with proficiency
  • Ability to adapt to emerging technologies and processing data in multiple systems/platforms
  • Prompt and professional verbal and written communication skills with a customer service attitude and being able to communicate effectively with vendors and employees at all levels of the organization
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint and automated accounting system
  • Willing and able to commute to office downtown Chicago three days a week.

Compensation:

Highly competitive compensation consisting of base salary and performance bonus.
