Cryptocurrency Security Engineer - Remote USA

Unit 410 is an experienced team of security, infrastructure, and cryptocurrency engineers. We empower the largest stakeholders to use their crypto in secure and novel ways. To do so, we build institutional-grade systems and solutions for secure network participation. We’ve long believed in the potential of cryptocurrency and are excited to continue pushing forward the state of the art through industry-leading key generation, encryption, and network participation. As we engineer systems and solutions, we often find pieces that we think should exist. So we build them, and whenever possible share those back with the community.

Job Responsibilities

  • Wallet Hardening: Work with our engineers to understand security risks and design wallets to interact with new cryptocurrency protocols. Help identify architectures that most appropriately meet our business needs and articulate residual security risks.
  • System Security: Collaborate with our teams to design and harden new systems. Using cloud, online/hardware, and offline tooling as appropriate, this includes the full lifecycle including code signing, deployment and access controls.
  • Detection & Response: Understand, instrument, and automatically generating high-signal alerts for off and on-chain environments to provide early indicators of compromise.  Plan and simulate responses to these alerts to minimize the likelihood of a production incident.
  • Audit & Review: Using internal and external capabilities as appropriate, evaluate the security of systems along with supporting open source dependencies. Where appropriate, mitigate risks directly or prioritize with our engineering teams to fix, surfacing any remaining security risks.

Requirements

  • Experience working with production environments of any scale.
  • Excited to explore new cryptocurrency networks at a very low level (specifications, implementation, and attack vectors).
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize the right projects and ship to production.

Key Technologies

  • Golang & Rust.
  • Substrate, Tendermint, and the latest protocols.
  • Low level system hardening (offline hardware, libraries, and tools).
  • Physical monitoring and security systems.

Why Unit 410

  • Innovate with the best: Collaborate with some of cryptocurrency's most experienced engineers and entrepreneurs in a dynamic environment that champions intellectual curiosity and fosters growth.
  • Shape the future: Own high-level projects that shape the future of cutting-edge crypto protocols, directly influencing the latest developments in the blockchain ecosystem.
  • Start-Up Agility, Industry Impact: Enjoy the autonomy and dynamic atmosphere of a start-up while making a significant impact across the crypto industry.
