We are currently seeking an experienced facility inpatient Coding Auditor & Educator to join our team working remotely from a home office! This position will work with UASI Managers to execute quality review processes for current staff, identify and provide training and mentoring to staff, and increase the overall quality of Coders through education.
Technical Coding/Auditing Expertise
- Utilize coding expertise to perform quality reviews on internal coders.
- Use audit tool to analyze quality results and track overall quality.
- Work with the Managers and Supervisors across Coding Solutions to perform coding quality audits on UASI Coders.
- Perform necessary feedback and research to Coders in response to coding questions.
Education & Mentoring
- Provide education to Coders as needed based on audit findings.
- Identify trends and perform training to improve Coder quality.
- Work with Managers and Supervisors to identify performance needs of Coders and create training to increase performance levels.
- Comply with UASI’s policies regarding the use and disclosure of protected health information which includes accessing and using protected health information only to the extent necessary to fulfill the above-mentioned responsibilities.
Position Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be flexible, detail-oriented, have the ability to work independently, quality conscious and be able to adapt well to change. Additional qualifications include:
- RHIA, RHIT or CCS certification
- 2-5 years’ minimum experience performing inpatient facility audits and reviews in addition to previous coding experience
- Knowledge and experience of coding guidelines including but not limited to ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS coding skills, DRG and APC assignment.
- Experience with Microsoft Office including 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Strong computer skills including the ability to utilize UASI audit software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate clearly.
