Manager - Warehouse (Customs)
About the Role
The Manager of the Warehouse will be responsible for spearheading service goals by overseeing warehouse team members and daily operations, and leveraging resources for the effective and efficient completion of daily tasks. The Manager - Warehouse will provide consistent and professional communications, and foster productive carrier relationship development, cover loads, handling and management of difficult situations, etc., while achieving internal departmental goals.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Perform accurate people management practices, leadership and coaching in order to achieve and exceed specific department’s goals
- Assure that essential warehouse processes are executed accurately
- Proactively identify and communicate issues, propose and implement solutions for continuous improvement in regards to processes, cost, service, and profitability
- Actively resolve conflict and problem solve
- Develop and distribute customer reports and internal performance management reports
- Monitor and hold team accountable for all key job functions
- Assure maintenance to the facility, develop and manage external providers to maintain facility on good conditions and safety
- Implementation and control of all safety and security conditions normed
- Deliver cost savings / cost containment to customer and/or Uber Freight
- Determine eligibility for additional non-committed freight to be awarded to internal brokerage services and actively support and encourage the awards
- Develop and distribute customer reports and internal performance management reports
- Negotiate and contract rate agreements with carriers, reconcile established rate levels with available purchased transportation providers, seek out new carriers to provide service at competitive rate levels

- Review, analyze, and understand matters related to P&Ls
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Advanced Spanish and English communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 - 4 years of Warehouse and Distribution operations experience, and knowledge of Warehouse Management
- Working Knowledge and Utilization of the appropriate Customs Brokerage and Warehousing systems, and Inventory Management
- OSHA and warehouse safety basic knowledge
- Knowledge in Customs / CTPAT regulations and operations
- Knowledge of Microsoft Tools
- Working Knowledge and Utilization of the TMS
