Lead Deal Desk Partner
About the Role
At Uber Freight, we are transforming the logistics industry through a premier digital marketplace. We are looking for a Lead Deal Desk Partner to serve a commercial architect for our most complex, multi-modal enterprise partnerships. In this role, you aren’t just looking at lanes; you are looking at the entire economic ecosystem of our largest customers. You will thread together Truckload, LTL, Intermodal, and Transportation Management (TM) into sophisticated enterprise models. Your goal is to design commercial structures that drive marketplace density, solve shipper pain points, and ensure long-term partnership health.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Architect Enterprise Value: Design "Blended P&L" models for Fortune 500 accounts, engineering the commercial trade-offs between different modes and services to maximize total account health.
- Drive Marketplace Investment Logic: Develop and defend "Network Investment Theses." You will analyze opportunities where strategic commercial terms in one area of the network drive a "Network Multiplier" effect—lowering buy-costs and increasing liquidity for the entire Uber Freight ecosystem.
- Engineer Incentive Structures: Build advanced rebate frameworks, tiered volume commitments, and performance-based pricing logic that align shipper behavior with marketplace efficiency.
- Define Commercial Guardrails: Provide guidance on non-standard contractual redlines, indexation logic, and margin trade-offs. You ensure that our most complex deals are structurally sound and financially sustainable.
- Manage cross‑functional approvals (Sales Leadership, Finance, Legal, Ops, etc.).
- Build deal-level models and frameworks that improve Deal Desk processes
- Recommend development of Pricing Packages that simplify approval flows and drive deal velocity.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Deal Desk, Strategic Finance, Management Consulting, or Corporate Strategy.
- Complexity Management: Proven ability to model multi-layered financial deals with high variables and cross-functional dependencies.
- Marketplace Intuition: Deep understanding of network effects, liquidity, and the economics of a multi-modal marketplace.
Preferred Qualifications
- Commercial Creativity: A track record of "thinking outside the box" to structure deals that solve for both shipper needs and internal margin requirements.
- Executive Presence: Ability to distill complex financial engineering into clear strategic advice for senior leadership.
- Technical Prowess: Mastery of Excel and SQL is required to build the underlying models that drive these commercial decisions.
