Logistics Specialist I (Brokerage)

Transplace, an Uber Freight company, is seeking talented customer service professionals with a background in Transportation, Supply Chain, or Logistics. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to deepen their logistics expertise and grow their career in a dynamic, global freight environment.
As a Customer Service Specialist, you will manage transportation operations, ensuring accurate handling of day-to-day booking, shipping, tracking, and billing for import, export, and domestic shipments. You’ll also negotiate competitive rates and provide exceptional service to our customers while working collaboratively with a team.
This role starts with a hybrid schedule in Monterrey, but after full training, there is potential for this position to become 100% remote.
Work Schedule
- Thursday–Monday: 4:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Saturday–Sunday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Tuesday and Wednesday - Off
What You’ll Do
- Secure freight capacity and manage load assignments
- Communicate with carriers to influence capacity during tight markets
- Monitor shipments for on-time pick-up, transit, delivery, and empty returns
- Update shipment statuses in the system accurately
- Notify shippers/receivers of updates and reschedule appointments as needed
- Maintain strong relationships with shippers, receivers, and carriers through professional communication
- Manage detention and expedite approvals when required
- Train customers on TMS workflows and best practices
- Negotiate spot shipments with carriers and customers
- Lead training sessions for carriers on the portal as needed
- Identify patterns in shipper, receiver, and carrier performance and recommend improvements
- Demonstrate ownership of assigned segments of business
- Coordinate shipments across multiple touchpoints (Shipper → Cross-dock → DC → Store) to optimize equipment utilization
- Assist in onboarding new receivers, vendors, and suppliers
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Internal Operating Procedures (IOPs)
Basic Qualifications
- 1+ years of relevant experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain
- Strong negotiation skills
- Bachelor’s degree
- Advanced Spanish and English (written, oral, and presentation skills)
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain
- Reporting and analytics skills (ability to run BI reports, validate data, and provide insights)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, formulas)
- 1+ year of customer service experience
- Experience with SAP
