
Investment Associate
Ubiquity invests in, develops, and manages digital communications infrastructure throughout the United States. Ubiquity partners with ISPs, wireless carriers, utilities, and municipalities to deliver connectivity and sustainability solutions in underserved communities. Reporting to the Vice President Investments and Strategy, the Investment Associate will contribute to all parts of Ubiquity’s investment process while supporting general portfolio company strategy and oversight.

- This position will be on-site at one of the preferred office locations: Charlotte, NC or Leawood, KS

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis on prospective direct equity investments.
- Contribute to various tasks related to investment sourcing, value creation, monitoring investments, and broader marketing efforts.
- Assist in transaction due diligence work-streams, including financial, commercial, legal, and tax.
- Create and maintain detailed and complex financial models for new and past investments.
- Prepare and present investment analysis to colleagues, Ubiquity Investment Committee, Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and others as necessary.
- Work with management and the investment teams to assess the operational maturity of existing and potential portfolio companies to identify improvement areas.
Education and / or Experience:
- Progress toward or completion of Undergraduate or MBA and/or relevant professional qualifications such as CFA, CIMA or CAIA a plus.
Required Skills / Abilities:
- 2+ years of recent investment banking, private equity, corporate development, transaction advisory, corporate finance, management consulting, or other relevant experience required.
- Expertise of financial valuations with knowledge of DCF, LBO, merger modeling, comparable companies, precedent transactions etc. required.
- Ability to support due-diligence and transaction execution processes required.
- Experience of preparing and maintaining company presentations (e.g. board materials) and benchmarking materials and other process documents required.
- Exposure to financing capacity valuations, impact analyses, bid analyses and collateral data analyses required.
- TMT and/or communication infrastructure experience is a plus, but not a prerequisite.
- Occasional travel required (<20%).
- Bachelor’s degree demonstrating outstanding academic performance required, in a business-related field preferred.
- Progress toward or completion of MBA and/or relevant professional qualifications such as CFA, CIMA or CAIA a plus.
