
Sr. Field Engineer
We are seeking a Sr. Field Engineer to work closely with the Ubiquity leadership team regional operations teams and Fiber First teams to design and implement FTTP projects. As a member of the Texas Fiber Networks Team, the engineer is responsible for the engineering and operations of the drops / build in the designated region. This position will work closely with the Ubiquity’s leadership, field technicians, NOC, project management, and GC/vendors.

- The role will be based out of Fort Worth, TX.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Manage the databases established to identify the drops for the area.
- Be the key liaison between Ubiquity and vendors during outages.
- Engage appropriate teams (internal and vendors) to address customer issues, install issues, trouble tickets and outages.
- Coordinate and manage relationships with vendors, equipment manufacturers, suppliers, and other teams throughout the project cycle.
- Collaborate with different departments within Ubiquity for end-to-end project deployment.
- Evaluate and implement new streamlined processes to help with the infrastructure.
- Manage and report on all key performance indicators.
- Identify and implement efficient and effective deployment methods per the latest trends in the market.
- Use project management and deployment tools to accurately manage various milestones of the project and report them accurately.
- Manage relationships with customers during the build cycle and seamlessly transition over to operations once the system is implemented/active.
- Provide technical support to technicians and vendors in the field.
- Identify and address any issues that arise.
- Dispatch operation techs as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and / or Experience:
- Minimum of five years of experience working in telecommunications.
- Experience managing vendors and contractors.
- Experience with ISP and OSP builds.
- Familiarity with fiber testing, splicing, and validation techniques.
- Flexibility to travel when needed.
- A valid driver's license is needed.
Required Skills / Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.
- Thorough understanding of construction/implementation methods and best practices.
- Positive approach to the new processes required in a start-up segment.
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn tools like Site tracker, Remedy, Vetro and Salesforce.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
